Frequent Accidents at Mappedu Junction on Tambaram Eastern by pass.
1) No proper Signals activated ( Smart signal proposal on paper)
2) No proper pedestrian crossing / lack of sign boards
3) Rumble Strips are needed to slow down vehicles
4)proper roundabout installation is pending.

What happened to the smart signal proposed on the Mappedu Junction?@UpdatesChennai @reclaimchennai @chennai_Highway @jvidyasagar
Please activate the existing signal atleast.
Also, proper pedestrian 🚶 crossing / rumble strips and tower lights are needed in this junction.
It is literally impossible to cross ❌ this junction even on non peak hours .@COPTBM #Agaramthen

Please install tower lights around main junctions from Mappedu junction to SSM Nagar . Pitch dark with high speed driving is causing accidents..@UpdatesChennai

@COPTBM -On the way to home from school , picking up my kids from school this auto guy came is wrong way standing in-front of my car , refused to turn back .
Location - Near Sify , towards TCS-Siruseri from OMR- SIPCOT .

Why these wrong way drivers spared . Became habit since no fines come from traffic police .

Tambaram Eastern by pass is a multi crore Project and will be one of the leading roads connecting GST to south Chennai areas once completed.
I am not sure why the govt or the contractors are paying attention to create proper roundabouts especially in main junctions ?
Shouldn’t it be part of the initial master plan ?

1. PP51 – Broadway (via Adyar)
2. 51V – Velachery (via Camp Road)
3. 31K – Kilambakkam via (Mappedu)
