Axing routes 38 & 55 from Lea Bridge Road was a shock. Save Our Buses criticised lost West End links & reduced frequencies. Chronic traffic congestion led to the cuts. Restoring a decent service would depend on bus priority. It was integral to campaign success!

Neighbours have had to BUY a second car as LTNs imposed by @lbhf and destroyed the @tfl buses using the residential Wandsworth Bridge Road

.@BBCRadioManc @BBCNWT Kevin is taking his fight against floating bus stops to @10DowningStreet tomorrow. It’s is terrible what has happened to bus stops in cycle lanes in Greater Manchester under @AndyBurnhamGM watch. What will happen if Andy becomes next Prime Minister?

Kevin from Rochdale & colleagues from London are heading to @10DowningStreet to petition @Keir_Starmer on Monday 15 June at 11am on the new DfT floating bus stop guidance. The consultation was a sham & the guidance is discriminatory. It must be withdrawn. It is unfit for purpose.

A promotional tool which cherry-picks stats to corroborate its main goal of validating #ActiveTravel policies. A few things it won’t address: Fewer shops, pubs, schools, local jobs & services, and longer trips with more congestion. Bus service cuts, increases in cycling KSIs.

Interestingly, I posted an article a couple of years ago where TfL advised wheelchair users to use an emergency passenger alarm in the event of missed assistance. clondoner92.blogspot.com/202…

A bus turns back before the jam. The passengers past that point get nothing. And because it never reached the measuring point, TfL's data doesn't record it as late. How Putney's buses keep failing on paper-perfect numbers: putney.news/2026/06/14/putne…

Kevin from Rochdale in Greater Manchester handing in the @NFBUK petition @Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet to ask for the immediate suspension of the DfT Statutory Guidance on Floating Bus Stops. It is not fit for purpose & the consultation was a sham. Fantastic photo @SimonLamrock

At @10DowningStreet to demand a rethink on floating bus stops. Andrew here, used to be able to get the bus to M&S, Hyacinth to hospital and her knitting shop. Now it’s not possible because SoS @Heidi_Labour prioritise fit young cyclists who can’t wait over blind and disabled people. @Number10cat

.@AndyBurnhamGM Kevin from Rochdale has a question on floating bus stops in cycle lanes. He has raised concerns about these designs which are not safe or accessible for blind people in Greater Manchester since 2018, all which have been ignored. He wants an answer please.

"These cynical cranks use disabled people as human shields in their crusade against bike infrastructure". You are so wrong - once again. Some of us have been actively supporting disabled people in their fight for accessible transport since we were young men in the 1980s.

LTNs clearly unpopular as well as destructive/unhealthy for those living on roads experiencing manufactured congestion and delayed busses.
On 24th April 2021 an estimated 3,000 - 5,000 joined the march to Ealing Town Hall to protest against LTNs mylondon.news/news/west-lond…

It would be great if black cabs could access all areas in London. Disabled & older people need to get to where they need to go but this is not always possible due to TfL denying access to many places. Can you tell us how many roads they are excluded from please @willnorman?

And yet another low frequency bus service in the cycling heaven of Waltham Forest showing a shocking poor performance. An on time bus service constantly running late due to manufacturing of congestion outside LTNs . All data available on line to see . Unlike high frequency bus routes which can be be shown to have a good service even if buses are running 2 hour late , low frequency it there in black and white. Mini Holland is a shockingly congested place where outsiders suffer so middle class work from home selfish residents self gain …

Another low frequency route unable to perform in the land of cycling gods in Waltham Forest. Route W12 just like the 215 showing Extreamly poor performance in this borough unable to run an on time bus service. The congestion outside LTNs here is shocking. Don’t listen to the cycling lobby who constantly lie about evaporation. Waltham Forest is absolutely awful for manufactured congestion.

Floating bus stops are being quietly installed across the UK, including the new ones in Yorkshire, and once again, disabled people are expected to navigate the fallout of decisions made without them. Leeds City Council is now “making alterations” and has commissioned an independent review. But the uncomfortable truth is this: the design didn’t originate in Leeds. It came from national guidance issued by the Department for Transport (DfT) under the banner of “active travel”. And yet, somehow, in 2026, we are still watching government departments roll out infrastructure that actively excludes the very people they claim to serve. Floating bus stops force blind and partially sighted people, individuals with disabilities that restrict movement, older individuals etc. to cross a live cycle lane just to reach public transport. linkedin.com/posts/steve-mcc…

Reminder of what was lost on Lea Bridge Road! As bus lanes disappeared busy Central London routes 48, 55 & 56 were stuck in queues of traffic. Re-creating scenes from the early 1990s. By the end of 2019 route 48 was axed. Ending historic links with The City & London Bridge!

The London wide all bus average is the slowest since they started using I-bus instead of manual recording. Prior to that speeds were faster.
