The woman in this video recounts how she escaped violence and arrived in Madegu hoping for safety, yet the bombing followed her family there. Children were reportedly having a meal when the strike occurred. For many Banyamulenge civilians in Minembwe, this cycle of displacement, fear, and loss has become a daily reality. These incidents demand serious attention, accountability, and protection of civilians. Despite the hardships, many continue to express gratitude to MRDP-Twirwaneho and AFC forces for what they see as efforts to protect local communities in an increasingly difficult and dangerous environment.

For those paying attention, the signs are impossible to ignore. Despite daily bombings, intimidation, and every effort to break the spirit of our people in Minembwe, our people remain standing and the tide continues to shift. The regime in Kinshasa is facing growing challenges politically, diplomatically, and on the battlefield, while the discipline, patience, and resilience of AFC continue to strengthen its position. What many dismiss today will become clear tomorrow: the suffering of our people will not last forever. The day is coming when Minembwe will breathe again, when truth will overcome propaganda, and when those who stood firm through the darkest days will witness a new chapter. #Australia: Congolese Community Protests Killings of Banyamulenge in Eastern DRC Over 400 members of the Banyamulenge community gathered in Canberra on May 29, 2026, in a peaceful demonstration condemning the ongoing ethnic violence targeting Congolese Tutsis in eastern DRC. Protesters called out multiple actors; including the Congolese government, Burundian troops, FDLR armed group, and the Wazalendo militia for their alleged roles in the attacks. Protest organizers stressed that sustainable peace will depend on stronger international engagement and the full implementation of agreements signed between the Congolese government and the AFC/M23 coalition, which they say remain largely unfulfilled.

The attempt by some individuals to make Banyamulenge sympathize with or support RED Tabara is unacceptable and disconnected from the painful reality our people lived through. RED Tabara fighters operated alongside FARDC, FDLR/Interahamwe, and Mai-Mai coalitions during attacks that brought death and suffering to Banyamulenge civilians. No political narrative or conflict with the CNDD-FDD government can erase the blood that was shed or justify those crimes. Banyamulenge have no reason to associate themselves with any armed group that participated in killings, displacement, and persecution of our community. Burundi’s internal political problems belong to Burundians to solve in their own country. We reject all forces and ideologies that targeted innocent Banyamulenge people, whether they come from Burundi, Congo, or elsewhere.
