An oil tanker with 50-60 million gallons of oil is currently sinking in the Gulf of Paria. That's 5x more than the Exxon Valdez spill.
The Venezuelan government is denying any problems. If the world doesn't act now, this will be one of the biggest disasters ever.

Just no. Backdoors were rejected 20yrs ago. We have end2end secure apps, no way encryption genie can be re-botteled in a democracy, society just won't wear it. Disproportionate, and tone-deaf in wake of mass illegal eavesdropping. See @snowden revelations

Very telling that @VattenfallGroup is contemplating closing its last / newest 1.6GW coal-fired power station in Hamburg, commissioned in 2015. Its losing money, so regardless of being slightly less polluting, it is a stranded asset, unviable. cleanenergywire.org/news/vat… by @KeAppunn
