Small detail but… Both NBC News and MS NOW are proceeding with their after parties tonight, albeit with changed agenda. NBC exec told me it’ll be a chance for people to come together. MS NOW statement: “As our reporting teams are covering the unfolding breaking news, our doors are now open for those who are seeking a space to gather and have a bite to eat. While tonight’s event won’t be what we originally intended, we still think it is important to provide a space for friends and colleagues to be together.”

David Jackson was a tenacious reporter and terrific storyteller. He was also kind and funny. I was fortunate to cover the White House beat with him during the Bush and Obama years. We worked together on the WHCA board and, later, in the USA Today newsroom. I'm heartbroken at his passing. DJ, as we called him, was tireless in pursuit of a story. He loved baseball and traveling and cherished the many friendship he forged. He will be greatly missed.
