ALT Screenshot of my post on facebook: On Monday morning, a suicide note was shared amongst a few people in a group of folks from the advocacy community for folks with disabilities in Alberta. The man said that the switch from AISH to ADAP was the last straw for him and he was going to take his own life. He told us not to bother trying to stop him. We did anyway. I found his physical address in seconds, Zachary Weeks reached out to the RCMP. We did what we could. A few minutes ago we received word that the man did, in fact, succumb to suicide. I am gutted. We all are. Mostly because we're all terrified that this is going to happen again over the next few months as people become victims of this government's callousness and their own despair. The Province just imposed the biggest property tax increase in Calgary history, and it shows up on your City tax bill.
Calgary's increase: 1.2%.
Province's increase: 21% this year, nearly 60% in four years. And another big hike is coming next year.

The “open and transparent” UCP didn’t even tell Albertans the Premier’s parliamentary secretary, Jason Stefan, resigned from his post during session because he endorsed the separatism petition.
