#PostOfficeScandal šŸ’” Today, we mourn the loss of a cherished member's parent—yet another life taken without justice in this national scandal. The anguish of losing a parent is already unbearable, but facing this pain without accountability is a torment no one should endure. As a charity, we're united in support, but we lack the professional assistance and therapy that Fujitsu promised. This is a heartbreaking reminder of state and corporate negligence—SHAME ON YOU! If you can, please consider donating to our GoFundMe. We shouldn’t have to ask, but here we are, devastated and seeking help. Together, we can make a difference. šŸ’” #JusticeForFamilies #SupportEachOther @stugoo17 @CastletonLee @sally_lindsay @voiceofthePM @VarchasPatel @brianwhelton @brentjay1 @richardtrinder1 @rbrooks45 @Janetsk20073533 @JapanToday @BBCEmmaSimpson @chrish9070 @UKHouseofLords @RosieBrock71780 @ChildrenHandS @mkiceburnmarko @awbubble @liambyrnemp @RJCouncil @ElCShaikh

#PostOfficeScandal This morning @BBCEmmaSimpson reported on @BBCBreakfast hosted by @jonkay01 & @sallynugent about the case of @PostOffice Scandal victim @Janetsk20073533 Janet is one of the worst affected people by this scandal. It is exactly the type of case I mentioned in my letter to new Minister Blair McDougall of @biztradegovuk just last week. Over 20 years of suffering, conviction overturned in April 2021, claim took years to put together because the Post Office demanded not one, not two but FIVE medical reports, which from a recent hearing they have finally accepted. Rather than refuse to co-operate with such an unreasonable request, Janet painstakingly provided the reports which I am sure were traumatic in themselves, reliving everything over again. Unlike them she is being fair. The retired Judge in her scheme Sir Gary Hickinbottom should have been made to intervene & put a stop to this nonsense. Just because they didn’t like the contents of the report doesn’t mean they had the right to keep asking for more, they hoped eventually one would side with them. No other words to say other than ā€˜disgusting.’ The government are as bad as the Post Office when it comes to redress. No one can understand what Janet has suffered because they are not in her shoes. But many have lived the scandal in their own right. I submitted my own claim in June 2023, 27 months ago. Similar to Janet my 1st offer was 12.5%. It has taken until recently to get that offer above 50% & I am still going. The 2nd Independent panel hearing will be next month & then a potential referral to another retired Judge, Sir Ross Cranston if need be. I really hope Janet hasn’t got 2 years or more left to go on her claim. This all needs to stop and it needs to stop now. The governments claim that it makes every effort to make full & fair offers to all claimants is laughable & total b*******ā—ļøThey use every legal argument they can think of even when the next one they use contradicts the first. In a @BBCNews piece by @BBCEmmaSimpson she wrote :- Disabled Post Office Horizon victim offered 15% of claimā€¼ļø A victim of the Post Office Horizon IT scandal who was temporarily paralysed after the stress of her ordeal has been offered 15% of her compensation claim. Janet Skinner was wrongly convicted of false accounting in 2007 & sentenced to 9 months in prison after the faulty software said Ā£59,000 had gone missing from her branch account in Hull. She has now received an offer of full financial redress - but it is a fraction of what she had claimed. "I cried and I cried… it's trauma on top of trauma," she told the BBC. The government said it made every effort to make full & fair offers to all claimants. But according to Ms Skinner's lawyer, all the high-value complex claims are being fought "tooth and nail". "They've taken a particularly cruel approach to Janet's case," claims Simon Goldberg, from Simons Muirhead Burton. The mother-of-two lost her home, her livelihood & served two months in prison. A year after her release, she was back in the dock facing another jail sentence as the Post Office pursued her for failing to pay "proceeds of crime". Less than a fortnight after the matter was resolved, she suffered a neurological collapse, was paralysed from the neck down & used a wheelchair for a year. "My immune system had broken down, basically my body attacked itself," said Ms Skinner. It took her two years to learn how to walk again but she has been unable to work because of ongoing problems with her health & mobility issues. "I'm in pain all the time. It's changed my life completely," she said. Her conviction was quashed in 2021 but it has taken more than four & a half years to prepare her claim, including being asked to submit five medical reports. A hearing took place earlier this year where the Post Office finally accepted these reports. Read the full piece herešŸ‘‡ bbc.com/news/articles/cq5jqx…

#PostOfficeScandal #HumanRightsAbuse #Redress #CompensationNow #NeverGiveIn #JusticeforJanet Janet Skinner, a survivor of the Post Office Horizon scandal, was wrongly jailed in 2007 after faulty software led to a false conviction and years of trauma. Her health collapsed from the stress—she was paralysed for a year and still lives in constant pain. Despite this, the Government has offered her just 15% of her compensation claim. After years fighting for justice, Janet refuses to settle for less than fair redress and is taking a stand against a system that keeps letting victims down. Full Article from @BBCEmmaSimpson šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq5j… The size of Janat's claim has not been made public, but her lawyer has described the compensation negotiation process as ā€œparticularly cruelā€ and claims that complex, high-value claims like Janet's are being contested ā€œtooth and nail,ā€ with every element—especially loss of earnings and future care costs—fought over. Complex claims are proving far harder to settle. Victims and their legal teams allege government and Post Office-appointed lawyers are dragging things out to minimise payouts – something ministers consistently deny. "It's not saving the public purse a penny. It's actually costing the public purse in the medium term," claims Ms Skinner's lawyer, arguing that hundreds of millions of pounds have already been racked up in legal fees by big City law firms handling the claims, as well as legal fees paid to victims' solicitors. Simon Goldberg of Simons Muirhead Burton has written to Darren Jones MP, who he says was a champion of the wronged sub-postmasters while in opposition. He is now effectively the Prime Minister's right hand man. "The only way to resolve this is political pressure from the very top," said Mr Goldberg. Ms Skinner has already rejected her offer and says, if need be, she is prepared to go to court if she does not receive sufficient redress for everything that she's been through. @Janetsk20073533 @darrenpjones @BBCBreakfast @BBCEmmaSimpson @edwardhenry1 @CastletonLee @mariaspears @chrish9070 @voiceofthePM @ChiefPieEater @nickwallis @liambyrnemp @CommonsBTC @DavidDavisMP @kevinhollinrake @RishiSunak @Keir_Starmer @andyverity @AndyBurnhamGM @jos02611 @JoHamil73963257 @TracyF882

My beautiful bestie , this makes me so sad every time I watch it, we will get through this and fight til the end 🄰 we’ve got this chick
#PostOfficeCompensationScandal #PostOfficeScandal #PostOfficeInquiry #Redress #HumanRights #HumanRightsViolations #Whistleblowing #Justice #StatesponsoredCrime #Mandelson #PostOfficeScandal #HumanRightsAbuse #StateSponsoredCrime #Torture #FUJITSU #MentalHealth #NeverGiveIn The Second Punishment: Post Office Scandal Survivors like Janet Skinner are being betrayed and tortured yet again. 19 years on from being maliciously prosecuted and wrongfully imprisoned this incredibly brave lady is still being forced to do battle with the Government over her claim for Redress. Janet wrote this yesterday in response to an article on LinkedIn - lnkd.in/e-as6dAC Quote: "The fight for Compensation has been slow, painful, and deeply traumatic. It has felt like reliving the injustice all over again—only this time, with the burden of proof placed on me to justify the suffering I’ve already endured. I was sent to Prison for a crime I did not commit. I was separated from my children, stripped of my job, and publicly shamed. That alone was a nightmare. But the aftermath has been just as cruel. I spent years learning to walk again—years of physical rehabilitation, emotional exhaustion, and mental anguish. The toll on my health has been immense. And yet, the process of seeking Compensation has become one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever faced. And I say that as someone who’s been to jail. Justice still feels out of reach. Every delay, every form, every legal hurdle is a reminder that the system still doesn’t fully see us. We were wronged. We were broken. And now we’re being asked to fight again—for recognition, for dignity, for what we’re owed. This isn’t just about money. It’s about Accountability. It’s about healing. And it’s about making sure no one else ever has to endure what we have and still do." Unquote I am humbled to have met Janet and so proud to be able to count this beautiful human being as really good friend. Janet and the other Survivors with more complex cases as a result of being wrongfully given Criminal sentences really do deserve so much better from the State. Dear @Keir_Starmer, You were a Human Rights Lawyer prior to entering politics. Can you imagine drowning in the lies of others. They convince a Court to send you to prison. You serve your time. You are broken. Those you love are broken. Finally the lies are uncovered. The TRUTH is out. Everyone is listening and you believe it will change BUT NOTHING CHANGES.

I’ve been unable to resist the temptation to repost this video. We, in Second Sight, loathe boastful self-congratulation, but here all who haven’t heard Paul speak will, I’m sure, be hugely impressed by his complete understanding of the case and his fluent, flawless, explanations
#PostOfficeScandal #PostOfficeInquiry Barrister PAUL MARSHALL highlights the invaluable contribution of @RonWarmington and @forensicgod of Second Sight, who perhaps have not received the fullest acclaim and indeed 'Honour' they deserve for prizing the lid of the Scandal back in 2013. @nickwallis @CastletonLee @Janetsk20073533 @chiarasimon @TjX50 @SeemaMisra_OBE @chrish9070 @JoHamil73963257 @jos02611 @tonydowney67 @voiceofthePM @NFSP_UK @DanNeidle @jasondarcy6 @Coyne_Expert @BBCEmmaSimpson @andyverity @VarchasPatel

Still can’t believe 4 years on we are still fighting 😢 never give up, let’s hope it’s not another 4 šŸ™ˆšŸ˜
#PostOfficeScandal #PostOfficeInquiry #MiscarriageofJustice Today marks the 4th Anniversary of the first 39 SubPostmasters having their wrongful prosecutions quashed by the Court of Appeal. A poem to mark the occasion: Fourth Spring for Justice Four years have passed, four Springs returned, Since scales were balanced, lessons learned. The Court of Appeal, its voice rang clear, dispelling shadows, calming fear. For thirty-nine, whose names were stained, By phantom loss and trust profaned, That April day brought vindication's light, A dawn that broke a long, dark night. We think of three, who stood so tall, Reflecting courage not shared by all. Their fight, a symbol, stark and true, Of bearing burdens, seeing through. Two advocates, with skill and grace, Unpicked the knots of time and space. Their words like blades, precise and keen, Exposed the flaws, the faults unseen. Beside them strode, with purpose set, A mind on justice, paying debt. A solicitor, whose focused tread, (Perhaps ignored which shoes were wed?) With mismatched leather, black or brown, Helped tear the flawed foundation down. So raise a glass, or pause in thought, For justice sought and dearly bought. For lives reclaimed, for truth held fast, A vital victory, built to last. Remember still, the cost, the fight, And honour those who sought the light. YET STILL FOUR YEARS ON SEEMA, JANET AND TRACY AWAIT FULL AND FINAL REDRESS AND SEE THOSE CULPABLE FOR THEIR ONGOING TORTURE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. @SeemaMisra_OBE @Janetsk20073533 @TracyFelstead @FloraClairePage @edwardhenry1 @CastletonLee @chiarasimon @PostOffInquiry @PostOffice @ShabanaMahmood @MoJGovUK @rbrooks45 @nickwallis @BBCEmmaSimpson @liambyrnemp @CommonsBTC @HouseofCommons @CommonsJustice @UKHouseofLords
