New paper out💥 in @NanoLetters
High throughput single particle profiler with simple confocal imaging. We used this new method to study protein-lipid interactions, drug membrane interactions and biophysics of nanoscale particles from human donors: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
🚨New paper alert!🚨
We all know that microscope lasers cause undesired reactions in our samples, such as photobleaching. Here, we investigated photoblueing, a light-induced reaction that changes the emission colour of a dye.

Did you ever think about getting started with two-photon excitation (TPE) microscopy?
It is a great time and fun🙃🔬
Therefore, we put some of the basics, trends, and pitfalls in fluorescence and TPE microscopy together. Now out in @CommsBio#OpenAccessnature.com/articles/s42003-0…
📣 Exciting news!
🔬 The #CMCiB has acquired the @Abberior Infinity super-resolution fluorescence confocal microscope, opening new opportunities for advanced research in biology and biomedical imaging.
Another step towards scientific excellence! 👏🏽

Massive news: eLife to abolish accept/reject decisions: papers will just be “peer reviewed”. Others can argue about this, but lots of interesting consequences. 1/9 elifesciences.org/articles/8…
#STED-FCS is a tool for measuring nanoscale dynamics (in membranes). Never heard of it?😱😱😱
Let’s change that! It’s a powerful method! Here, @Sciezgin and I give a brief primer to the technology, review applications and discuss future directions:

After successful runs at science festivals my Virtual Reality Microscopy Experience is finally released for everyone to try out. This #VR -based educational experience shows how #microscopy works and just how small cells & viruses really are. Get it at: visualviruses.itch.io/virtua…
The crisis no one is talking about: we are running out of science's vital non-renewable resource, TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms)! Scientific papers have has now used 94% of the 17,576 possible TLAs.
We need to start recycling: of 1.1M total acronyms, 79% are used less than 10x.
Was looking for a better marker than those "fine tip" vwr markers and bless r/labrats because they conducted a thorough experiment reddit.com/r/labrats/comment…
Woo hoo! Nature Methods highlighting the importance of microscope quality control and proper reporting in a special collection of articles. Thanks to @rita_strack and all at NM, and major congrats to ALL authors (me too!😂) incl @StrambioLab@QuarepLimi @Bio @BioimagingNA
The plasma membrane is a very heterogeneous and dynamic structure. Embracing this @uiztok and I are editing a special issue on “Membrane Architecture and Asymmetry” in @Membranes_MDPI If you share our excitement, please consider contributing! More info: mdpi.com/si/96993
I could not believe when I saw this. I had the privilege to interact with her on my visit to UNSW a few years back. The microscopy field has just lost one of its finest... 😔
Science lost a superstar when Prof. Kat Gaus passed away in March. We have created a blog post filled with pieces from her family and colleagues. Please join us in remembering her and celebrating her contributions to science. protocolsmethods.springernat…
