Thread of threads 🧵 We follow a lot of topics important to Mahadevapura and Bengaluru. For many of them, we do threads, to keep track of milestones and updates. They also provide an archive of promises made, very few kept, and most we are still pining for. And then some. Here it goes.

After allocating 1000000 crores for pothole fixing , we would still get to witness moon class infrastructure 🙃🤡 Fun fact : KA-03 RTO is 200 meters from this spot Kempegowda underpass , RM nagar @ChristinMP_ @bengalurupost1 @NammaBengaluroo @GBAChiefComm

After nearly 18 months of suffering due to road excavation for underground cabling, Swamy Vivekananda road was finally asphalted about six months ago. Now, a large portion of it has been dug up again in the middle of the night. The suffering and inconvenience continues on this busy road/narrow junction. 📍Prashanth Layout, Whitefield.

There is a latent demand for premium bus services in all cities. In Bengaluru, the Vayu Vajra AC Bus by @BMTC_BENGALURU are hugely popular; nearly 30% of trips are non-airport travel which indicates @BMTC_BENGALURU stands to gain more ridership by running more AC buses in city In Mumbai, the just launched Friday Public Transport Day @ BKC by @MMRDAOfficial gave a big push towards premium bus services in Mumbai. On 12th June, the first Friday bus ridership has seen an uptick though it’s too early to assess.
For decades, the image of Mumbai's office commute has been the same. Packed local trains. But for a growing number of white-collar workers, the last leg of that journey now looks very different. As BEST's fleet shrinks and last-mile gaps widen, app-based services like Cityflo and Chalo are stepping in with a simple promise of a guaranteed seat, a fixed schedule & no surprises. The train gets them most of the way. Premium AC buses handle the final piece. Replying to @PCMohanMP
@PCMohanMP sir, pls be a statesman, blaming Gok & not getting anything done for the people & #ITCorridor who elected you as MP is non performance! Everyday delay is a bigger loss due to fuel wastage, escalation & health costs. Except DMRC,no metro is viable in India today!
Bengaluru needs the Hebbal–Sarjapur Metro corridor. But a ₹25,999 crore project must pass the tests of technical viability, ridership and fiscal prudence. The Centre’s insistence on rigorous scrutiny before approval is prudent. Public infrastructure must be sustainable.

Who is responsible? I read this news - mother losing her life; daughter seeing her being run over - yesterday, right after I saw a massive pothole while passing by KTPO. So big I turned around to take pictures to report it.
A mother lost her life yesterday. Right in front of her child. Who saw her being run over by a vehicle. After they skidded due to a pothole. Which was invisible due to rain water pooling there. @BECCUPDATES - who is responsible for this? saptashwatv.com/news/nationa…

So many things wrong, we don’t even know where to start. Let’s focus on the so called apps that are launched at regular intervals. The IT city of India, but we can’t even get ONE app of the municipality corporations and parastatals to actually work: ❌ Sahaaya 2.0 ❌ BMTC Real Time status ❌ DCLUTTER by BSWML

⚠️ BMRCL Read the data. Your incompetence hurts Bengaluru commuters. Data isn't asking for double-decker throughout Ph3. It screams for integrated structures at intersections & traffic management. Got it? @Secretary_MoHUA - There is no case for double-decker throughout.

HAL is burning garbage inside its premises (near Marathahalli). Emails to officers / officials are bouncing back. Complaints to GBA, Marshals are not entertained as its private property. The burning is causing huge air pollution issues. What does one do? @BECCUPDATES Incident location: maps.app.goo.gl/CsJM3xU7k59A… (the website is down as well!) #Karnataka Chief Minister #DKShivakumar is set to move into the 160-year-old Kumara Krupa bungalow, which he is turning into his official residence. The bungalow has got a makeover. But just a few yards away are the official quarters meant for the government staff, who live under pathetic conditions with leaky roofs, erratic water supply and bad roads. @AshwiniMS_TNIE @DKShivakumar 🔗 newindianexpress.com/states/…

Its very very broken.
Some days I wonder how broken our infrastructure really is. Today, while travelling just 8 km in Bengaluru, I noticed at least 10 garbage pile-ups and 3 places where drainage was overflowing. And all of this in what we proudly call the Silicon Valley of India. We talk about AI, startups and trillion-dollar economies, but shouldn’t basic civic infrastructure come first?

Multiple newspapers today carrying articles about the failure of lakes management by GBA and the corporations. The biggest mistake is pushing concerned citizens out of the picture and claiming that sarkar will take care of our lakes instead. That hasn't worked at all - some of the officials in charge have been hostile to citizens even when their own failure is starkly evident.

This morning Bengaluru got the good news of the PRR1 LOA issued. @lkatheeq also confirmed that metro provision exists for BMRCL to build. City must drop short, long tunnel & descope Ph3 double-decker to fund this PRR metro. Bengaluru must seize this great opportunity now.
