Lack of traffic sense !!! Location - LC134, Chinnappanahalli, Bengaluru It was around 9.40AM today. It took almost 40 mins to cross this railway track on a two wheeler towards Graphite junction. When the railway gate opened, two wheeler riders created a grid lock at this railway gate by occupying both lanes in the opposite. They were not letting people cross it. A police constable was trying to control the traffic at the railway gate but he couldn't as two wheelers were rushing. One car was stuck and it was unable to cross as mad two wheeler guys blocked the way completely. More than infrastructure, it's the traffic sense that can make the flow free. Lack of traffic sense can even make a gridlock on highways. Until and unless traffic and driving sense are not improved, traffic problems will never be solved. Gridlock is not restricted to Bengaluru alone, many cities have this issue and it is the issue caused by reckless drivers. @TopDriverIndia @DriveSmart_IN @RSGuy_India

Our city seems to be moving in the right direction finally by looking at “demand” side and focusing on how to reduce personal vehicles. Though many have been crying hoarse for years, we never saw “Paid Parking” occupying headlines! Never saw demands made on “Corporates” The @blrcitytraffic police asking companies to discourage personal vehicle usage by imposing parking charges and asking @BMTC_BENGALURU to offer bus services to tech parks. @0RRCA asks for better bus frequency (fair demand if you want more to use bus) - I think all companies need to start paid parking simultaneously so it doesn’t become a competitive issue and everyone comes together for common public good. It is estimated that companies pay ₹5000 for a parking spot to the builder - this amount can go the employees towards bus and metro as a benefit instead. It must be highlighted that it takes 30 minutes or more for car users to get out of their parking lots in tech parks onto the ORR. There is no bigger proof needed where traffic congestion is coming from and what we should do as responsible citizens. Kudos to @Jointcptraffic @blrcitytraffic for their proactive approach and promoting bus and shared mobility. Hope they bat for reviving bus lane soon too :)

This morning, BNCC Commissioner Sri Pommala Sunil Kumar inspected Yelahanka Airport Road. ✅ Directed officials to clear garbage/black spots in vacant plots. ✅ Ordered that penalties & cleaning charges be imposed on property owners. #bengalunorthcitycorporation

Today I am on a field visit of key alignment points of #PRR 1. We began the inspection at NICE junction near Madavara on NH4. Will continue towards Doddaballapur Rd, airport road & old Madaras Rd.
