She is lying. Brazenly. Israel has forced over a million people (a million!) from their homes, razed entire neighborhoods to the ground, told Christian villagers to not let Shia villagers stay in their villages, and killed multiple first-responders in double tap strikes.
This needs to be said loud and clear. Israel is not attacking Lebanon. They are targeting Hezbollah. An Iranian funded terror proxy that has struck Israel 2,000 times since the April ceasefire. Israel has every right to defend itself. Don’t fall for the Iranian regime’s distraction.

For many years, I took barbs for refusing to call Israel's policy in East Jerusalem "ethnic cleansing". After all, there were 60,000 Palestinians in East Jerusalem in 1967, and 400,000 today. Occupation sucked, and included war crimes, but it wasn't ethnic cleansing. That has changed now. There are 3 Palestinian neighborhoods, all of whose residents are being or are about to be displaced: Batan al-Hawa and al-Bustan in Silwan, and Um Haroun in Sheik Jarrah. The latter two are being razed, or will be razed in the near future. And immediately to the east, the Bedouin hamlet of Khan al-Akmar, adjacent to E-1, is about to be expelled, part of an attempt to "cleanse" Area C between East Jerusalem and the Jordan River valley of its Palestinian residents. Regrettably, I can think of no other term to use other than "ethnic cleansing".
Amnesty International has accused Israel’s government of carrying out a campaign of “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and annexing their territory. 🔴 LIVE updates: aje.news/ja8wy2

Terrible, awful news. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time
A statement from President @TPACampbell: It is with heartbreaking sadness today that we confirm the line-of-duty death of @TorontoPolice Constable Marc Pinizzotto. A valued member of our elite Emergency Task Force, our brave brother was fatally shot early this morning during a high-risk takedown. The TPA has been on site all morning with Chief Demkiw and other members of the TPS, supporting Marc’s devastated family and colleagues. Details of how this tragic incident unfolded, as well as any arrangements, will be available in the coming days. In the meantime, I want to ask everyone for their support. When most people were safely at home in bed, this officer left his family to make this city safer. Our members put their lives on the line every day. It is a devastating tragedy that Marc did not return home to his family today.

> be Doctor Who > survive cancellation in 1989 > come back in 2005 with Russell T Davies > make Christmas specials part of the modern show’s identity > introduce David Tennant on Christmas Day > turn regeneration into a national TV event > spend 60 years surviving Daleks, Cybermen, Time Lords and BBC chaos > bring RTD back again to save the brand > get Disney money > launch Ncuti Gatwa as the 15th Doctor > then lose Ncuti after two seasons > lose Disney > lose Bad Wolf > lose Russell T Davies again > cancel the Christmas special > put the whole show out to tender the scariest Doctor Who villain was never the Daleks it was the production meeting after everyone left

DOCTOR WHO JUST LOST CHRISTMAS BBC cancelled the 2026 Doctor Who Christmas special, and somehow that is not even the biggest red flag - Russell T Davies is stepping down - Bad Wolf is exiting the series - Ncuti Gatwa already left as the 15th Doctor - no new Doctor has been announced yet - RTD says there was no script for the special - there was no actor attached either - BBC is putting Doctor Who out to competitive tender - Disney reportedly pulled out after two seasons - the Christmas slot was literally where modern Doctor Who made David Tennant feel inevitable in 2005 Doctor Who survived Daleks, Cybermen, Time Lords and 60 years of reboots but losing RTD, Bad Wolf, Disney, the Doctor and Christmas at the same time feels like the real regeneration crisis

New footage obtained by B’Tselem uncovers the moments when the Abu Haikal family was shot. Seven-month-old Sam Abu Haikal was killed in the shooting, and both his parents were injured. The footage clearly shows that the Israeli soldier fired at the car as it was slowing to a stop. The car was far from the soldiers and posed no danger to them whatsoever. Moments later, in another video obtained by B’Tselem, seven-month-old Sam’s father, Fahed, is seen just after his son was shot. Fahed is holding baby Sam in his arms, trying to stop the bleeding from his head with his hands, while Sam’s mother, Daniyah, who was also injured by the gunfire while holding her son, is seen sitting on the ground, next to the car. Last Friday, 5 June, an Israeli soldier fired at a Palestinian family driving home from a family visit, as they sat in their car in the Tel Rumeidah neighborhood in Hebron. The family was shot as the car was slowing to a stop at the soldier’s command. Sam, a seven‑month‑old baby who was in his mother’s arms in the back seat, was struck in the head and pronounced dead shortly afterward. Sam’s parents were also injured by the gunfire; his mother is still in the hospital. After the shooting, the soldier who fired and another soldier who was with him left the scene without checking the car or offering any assistance to the critically wounded baby or to his mother. In the past two and a half years, Israel has killed tens of thousands of children in Gaza and the West Bank. The immunity it gets from the international community has led to a reality where, under Israeli rule, Palestinian lives are entirely disposable – even a seven‑month‑old baby.

I'm finally reading Dune. This quote, which is in the first few pages, hits hard: "Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."

Five years ago, a Muslim family in London, Ontario was killed in an attack motivated by Islamophobic hate. It's a painful reminder of what happens when the dehumanization of Muslim individuals and families goes unchecked. Standing united against Islamophobia isn't just reflections and words. With Islamophobia on the rise in Ontario, it is a reminder we must commit to meaningful action. We must commit to combating Islamophobia, racism and all forms of hate before they ever take root like this.

Five years later, we remember the Afzaal family and the lives stolen by hate. Their memory reminds us of the work that still lies ahead, to confront Islamophobia, stand up to hate, and build a Canada where everyone can live in safety, dignity, and peace.
Five years ago, Salman, Madiha, Yumnah, and Talat Afzaal were killed in a brutal act of Islamophobic terror in London, Ontario.    We stand with their loved ones and the Muslim community across Canada who still live with the loss and the trauma of this tragedy.    It is our duty to match remembrance with responsibility. Through concrete actions, including new legislation to combat Islamophobia and hate in our communities, we will build a country where all Muslim Canadians can live their lives without fear.
