I didn’t realize it was apparently that easy to constitute a presbytery these days. When 260 PCUS congregations (41,000 members) became the PCA, people still accused them of a form of hierarchical schism, even though there was no formal excommunication between the bodies. Even today, despite the PCA inheriting the line of the RPCGS, the legal and largest institutional continuation of the Covenanters in America, larger than either the RPCNA or ARPC, some younger folks online who have not really read the primary sources still view the PCA as partially schismatic. Even the original PCA eventually merged with the RPCES, further strengthening the continuity and canonical standing of the denomination. And now the Kinists are going to start their own presbytery? If every disagreement ends with creating another presbytery instead of working through the church courts, I’m not sure what is left of historic Reformed ecclesiology. Our fathers fought hard to maintain ecclesiastical order. I can’t imagine they would be pleased to see these splinter groups forming whenever disagreements arise.
