Well, here's some surprising news...
I have been trying to clean up my neglected personal files to make donations to @burnslibrary, the SSA History Room, and a couple of @Yale organizations.
I found my lost #Waltharius, which I wrote at 15.
It turns out it is not a true translation, but a rewriting of the epic #poem in the style of a Shakespearean play.
We'll see if @BostonCollege will take that with my literary papers that otherwise start around 1991.

Read about poet and writer Louise Imogen Guiney, born in #Roxbury in 1861 to #Irish immigrant parents. She wrote numerous poetry collections and a biography of #irish hero Robert Emmet. To supplement her income as a writer, Louise was a Postmaster in #AuburndaleMA and a cataloger at the #BostonPublicLibrary. Her collected works are at @BPLBoston and @burnslibrary. The @BapstLibrary has a stained glass window of Guiney.

In 1924, the Irish National War Memorial Committee in #Dublin donated to the #BostonPublicLibrary 8 beautifully decorated folio volumes with details on 49,400 Irishmen who died in World War I. The books were illustrated by famed Irish artist #HarryClarke.

The Boston Public Library in Copley Square has rare manuscripts of hand-written #Irishmusic dating from 1842.
