$DGL.AX out with revised financials after stopping trading for 6 months. The changes in the numbers are not significant. It seems that the accountants and lawyers got fat on the shareholders' dime for very little purpose. DGL is a chemical transport and logistics company.

Still waiting for $DGL.AX to be readmitted. On Friday they confirmed the reason for the suspension, being mainly accounting of inventory (due to issues with the new ERP) and governance deficiencies. I am not very worried, but probably acquiring 30 small businesses in 5 years without much previous experience and in peak of cycle wasn’t the best idea. Now adding these issues in the worst part of the cycle is not the best, but I also tend to prefer having all bad news at the same time 🤞 Good news is that they got a covenants waiver from lenders so that they continue operating normally and also they sold non-core assets with funds used to reduce debt by 24% before year end. We’ll see where this trades when they are back to trading, probably significantly lower, but I dont see them close to bankruptcy. When the chemicals cycle turns, and it will, a capital intensive player like this one will fly when operating leverage kicks into the P&L.

Now a fortnight later and $dgl.ax still suspended. That audit is obviously not straightforward.

We also have another ticking bomb in the AU portfolio in $DGL.AX DGL Group. They have not posted their accounts in time and 10 days after we are still waiting. 1.3% position with a 15% loss as of now, so not significant in any case. Probably it is just a mess derived from the consolidation of all the recent little acquisitions they did, but still doesnt look good. More than probable (and justified) large drop when they post the accounts and are quoted again.

With the mini-rally in the last week or so, it feels like at least some believe it's the former. I'm reserving my judgement until next HY result. They took some corrective steps, but it remains to be seen how well they execute $dgl $dgl.ax
