The Central government has directed the Delhi Gymkhana Club, one of the oldest clubs in India located in Lutyens’ Delhi, to hand over its premises by June 5 for purposes linked to strengthening defence infrastructure and public security.
According to an official order dated May 22, the property at 2, Safdarjung Road had originally been leased to the club for maintaining a social and sporting institution.
