Reading is freedom. It opens worlds that might otherwise remain closed. Imho opinion, I believe that the lack of basic knowledge ( easily acquired through books) is the source of much of the problems in today's world. They don't have to erase history. No one sees the point.

I have always thought that the debate around Critical Race Theory is somewhat odd. I get that people don’t want to be labeled as racists. But whatever way you look at it, America has a long history of racist policies, whether that be the War on Drugs, segregation, or slavery. I think any good social studies teacher should teach about race in America. That doesn’t mean being judgmental and accusatory, but honestly examining the role that race has played in our history. To me, that is not a radical point of view.

my scientific heroes are not celebrities. they are people who changed how humans see reality. • newton → turned motion into mathematics. showed that the heavens and earth follow the same rules. • faraday → saw invisible fields before the math caught up. pure intuition, experiments, and obsession. • maxwell → unified electricity, magnetism, and light into one framework. insane compression of reality. • tesla → thought in systems, energy, machines, and transmission. engineering imagination at full voltage. • einstein → broke common sense and rebuilt space, time, gravity, and light from first principles. • feynman → made hard physics feel alive. clarity, play, and deep understanding without fake seriousness. • turing → showed that thought itself could be formalized into computation. • von neumann → one of the rare minds who could move between math, computing, physics, and systems. what they all had in common: they didn’t just collect knowledge. they saw patterns underneath reality, compressed them into principles, and gave humanity new tools to think with. that’s the kind of mind worth studying.

This says it all! I’ve had hilarious conversations about the education system as a whole and how it is propped up on the illusion of intelligence. In other words, officials use big words like inquiry-based instruction, quantitative evidence, differentiation, etc. But despite these, the system is failing. It is far too complex, and that confusion harms both students and staff.

Motivation comes from meaning. If you want your child to be motivated to do anything, it has to feel meaningful for them. This is what schools often get wrong. Grades have limited meaning (for most) Meaning must come from curiosity, mastery, responsibility, identity, relationships, beauty, purpose. A child who feels ownership over their learning will find meaning everywhere♥️

Memorizing the languages of #Math and #Science makes our brains stronger; each concept, term, and fact is a tool for #BrainFunction individually and collaboratively #Semantics #Perception #HumanReasoning #SystemsLiteracy #GeneralSemantics #EnergyNetworkScience
There are moments when memorizing something now makes deeper learning possible later. Memorizing multiplication tables, for example, frees your mind to focus on more complex math. For those studying English, learning irregular verbs early (eat–ate, run–ran, go–went) prevents months of confusion and opens the door to more advanced language skills. And in history, knowing key facts, dates, and figures provides the foundation needed to analyze events with depth and context as the subject becomes more complex. When taught well, memorization becomes the foundation that allows students to grow into critical, deep thinkers.

X is about to show where people post from, so I’ll just say it myself: I live in France. I’m Simon, PhD in organic chemistry. Science belongs at the table, not just in the lab. My goal here is simple: Bring science back into everyday life. Drop a Hi if you want to learn more.

Violent language invites violence. Such language changes brains and can result in real world consequences. The power of violent language far exceeds mere words. And no one has done more to inject violent language into our politics than Donald Trump. theframelab.org/donald-trump…

LOL!! That's the same logic my wife uses when there is a sale at Macy's. UBI isn't a magic bullet. Education ,job training and a free market economy are shown to reduce crime.
