It was great to meet with the winners of WI-05's Congressional App Challenge, Bharat Nambisan and Ashok Nambisan from Stanford Online High School (Menomonee Falls), when they were recently in Washington, D.C., to demo their app at the #HouseOfCode celebration. Their app, IntergenTEC, connects older adults with teens and youths for intergenerational sessions to combat loneliness and social isolation among older adults.

Great to have our winner of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for #MN01, Simon Wilke, in Washington, D.C. for the #HouseOfCode event this week! Simon created the app “DermaSight,” which helps users detect early signs of skin cancer directly from their phones. “DermaSight” is a true reflection of the medical innovation southern Minnesota is proud to have in our backyard. Amazing work, Simon!

Congratulations to our 2025 Congressional App Challenge winners, Maxwell Brohm and Zander Leon, students at Morris County School of Technology, for presenting their app at yesterday’s #HouseOfCode event at the U.S. Capitol. Inspired by the toll procrastination took on them and their classmates, they developed ChronoIQ to help students manage their time better, work more efficiently, and feel less stressed about school. Well done, Maxwell and Zander 👏

It was great to welcome Tristan Sun and his family to the Capitol this week! Tristan won our 2025 TX-24 @CongressionalAC, and is up in Washington, D.C. for #HouseOfCode! Tristan created MyHeartHeath, inspired by his grandmother, that uses AI to create blood pressure readings that are easy to track for patients and a visual summary for doctors – bridging the gap between how patients record their data and doctors' understanding.

Every year, I host the Congressional App Challenge, a competition to encourage middle and high school students to learn to code and create an original app. Our area is a bustling tech sector, and I hope this contest encourages students to learn the skills that will open up future opportunities. The winner of this competition gets their app shown in the U.S. Capitol for a year and is invited to attend #HouseofCode in Washington, DC. The 2025 winner of the TX-31 Congressional App Challenge is Team Ocunetra from Rouse High School. You can watch their app in action here: youtube.com/watch?v=izvR91hs…
