■ Until April 3, I believed that satsuki azaleas had not yet begun to bloom in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo. However, while walking through a park at night, I noticed many flowers blooming in the darkness. ■ The important point is that they had not been in bloom that same morning. ■ The attached photos were taken with a flash under poor shooting conditions. Even so, I am pleased that I was able to capture the very beginning of blooming in this area this year. ■ 【Message】 In any phenomenon, there are moments of change—such as a “beginning” and an “end.” By precisely capturing these moments, the true nature of things begins to reveal itself. In this case, it connects to accurately sensing “the movement of the seasons” and “the footsteps of spring.” ■ The ability to perceive seasonal change is also linked to the capacity to grasp the movement of the countless streams of information in this world from a broader, overarching perspective. #Satsuki #Azalea #InformationProcessing

Yep, this is basic #informationprocessing. We cover this and more related to evidence-informed #teaching in #EdPsychModules. How I wish more schools of #education would include #educationalpsychology in their curriculum. @SageEducation
If you want to retain info, you have to repeatedly pull it out of your brain, not out of your notes. The info needs to enter working memory and the way it needs to get there is via long-term memory, not sensory memory.

Who wrote the code of life? "The discovery of the DNA code has transformed our scientific understanding of the nature of the living cell. We now know that at the heart of life is a language, a code, a set of instructions. As Lila Gatlin puts it, “life may be defined operationally as an informationprocessing system.” And Jeremy Campbell writes: 'Evidently nature can no longer be seen as matter and energy alone. Nor can all her secrets be unlocked with the keys of chemistry and physics.… A third component is needed for any explanation of the world that claims to be complete. To the powerful theories of chemistry and physics must be added a late arrival: a theory of information. Nature must be interpreted as matter, energy, and information.' The question of life’s origin must likewise be recast to take account of these findings. The origin of life is now in large measure the origin of information. As Bernd-Olaf Kuppers writes, “The origin of life is clearly basically equivalent to the problem of the origin of biological information.” (The Soul of Science)

Definitely evolved. From early subliminal messaging to LSD to current 5G and informationprocessing technology. They've been tapping in, most don't even realize it's happening.

🚨NEW EPISODE ALERT🚨 Cognitive Bias, Mental Health, PTSD & Anxiety | Prof. Marcella Woud Why do some people recover from trauma, while others spiral into anxiety or depression? In Episode 26 of Neuroscience Beyond, we explore the psychological mechanics behind trauma and healing. Join us for an intriguing conversation with Prof. Marcella Woud, Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychopathology at the University of Göttingen (@uniGoettingen). We discussed the fascinating link between how we interpret the world and how mental health conditions like PTSD, anxiety, and depression take shape. In this episode, you’ll discover topics such as: - How trauma and negative thinking loops lead to PTSD - Why traumatic memories feel so vivid and intrusive - Why some people develop PTSD after trauma, and others don’t - What information processing biases are, and how they relate to anxiety and depression - Effective PTSD therapies such as exposure-based treatment and EMDR 👉 Plus, many more insights on memory fragmentation, cognitive models, mental health awareness, and how external factors shape cognition.
