On 22 July 2024, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology of Lao PDR issued urgent flood warnings due to Tropical Cyclone Prapiroon and strong southwest monsoon winds. Severe flooding and landslides then impacted northern and central Laos from 23 July to 8 August 2024.
The IFRC-DREF allocation will support the @LaoRedCross in conducting rapid needs assessments in Huaphan, Xiengkhuang, and Xayabouly provinces.
