The inaugural session of the one-day state-level workshop on “Developed Maharashtra 2047: Pathways for Transforming Urban Local Bodies”, organized by the All India Institute of Local Self-Government as part of its centenary year celebrations, was conducted by me. This workshop aligns with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji’s national vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” and contributes meaningfully to Maharashtra’s long-term development goals. It proved to be highly significant in strengthening urban local bodies across the state, making them more capable, efficient, and future-ready. Key discussions during the workshop focused on urban challenges, improving service delivery, enhancing institutional efficiency, and localizing environmental solutions. It was emphasized that achieving the vision of “Developed Maharashtra 2047” requires strong coordination and collaboration among the government, local bodies, and citizens. On this occasion, the publication titled “Centenary Journey”, highlighting the 100-year legacy of the institution, was also released.
