🔩 HOW DOES A SOLID STEEL SHEET BECOME A FLEXIBLE EXPANDED METAL MESH – WITH ZERO MATERIAL WASTE? 🔩 An oscillating blade slits and stretches the sheet simultaneously. No cutting, no chips, no scrap. Pure forming technology. The result speaks for itself: 🏗️ Zero waste – the material is stretched, not cut ⚙️ Full structural integrity – the grain structure remains untouched 📐 Larger surface from less raw material – maximum efficiency 🤖 High load capacity through the rigid diamond geometry The critical parameter nobody talks about: feed rate and punch force must be perfectly synchronized – one tolerance breach and the mesh geometry collapses. As a robotics consultant, this is where it gets interesting for me: gripping and positioning expanded metal is anything but trivial. Complex geometry, low weight, high stiffness – a real challenge for any handling system. Which application for this mesh would fit your next engineering project – and have you already considered automated handling? Best regards Ulrich - The German Engineer #MechanicalEngineering #MetalWorking #ManufacturingEngineering More Facts, More Automation, More Robotics, Less Show

We’re hiring Mechanical Engineers in Sydney, Nova Scotia (Cape Breton) to improve and evolve the manufacturing systems behind our speed, precision, and scalability. This is a manufacturing engineering role focused on how things are built, not product design. You’ll work on: • process improvement • equipment implementation • automation support • production optimization We’re looking for engineers who can take ownership, solve real production challenges, and help scale manufacturing systems. Role level, scope, and compensation will reflect your experience, technical depth, and ability to independently execute increasingly complex projects. Sydney, NS (Cape Breton) Full-time, permanent | In-office Start date: ASAP If you’re interested in building better manufacturing systems and seeing your work make an immediate impact: 👉 Learn more and apply here: ow.ly/vU9150YxNsa #Hiring #MechanicalEngineer #ManufacturingEngineering #EngineeringJobs #NovaScotiaJobs #CapeBreton #SydneyNS #Automation #ProcessImprovement #CanadaJobs

⚙️ THE BEST AUTOMATION DOES NOT USE SOFTWARE. ⚙️ A line stops because a vision system fails calibration. An operator waits while software is rebooting. Production depends on code — instead of physics. And then you see this. Spherical parts move along two diverging rails. At a precise point, each part loses support and drops — defined only by its diameter. No sensors. No cameras. No control system. The critical detail is the geometry. The rail spacing increases in a controlled way until gravity does the sorting. Deterministic behavior. No latency. No signal noise. No software failure. This is classic Poka-Yoke. Error prevention through design — not detection through technology. And this is where the industry gets uncomfortable. We keep adding sensors, AI, and control logic to problems that physics already solves better. We call it smart. In reality, we are often adding cost, complexity, and failure points. This system does the opposite. It removes everything unnecessary. So here is the real question: Are we building smarter automation — or just more complex systems? Best regards Ulrich – The German Engineer #engineering #automation #manufacturingengineering More Facts. More Automation. More Robotics. Less Show.
