The occasion was graced by Shri Amitabh Pandey, Director, IGRMS; Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Director, Madhya Pradesh Natya Vidyalaya; Shri Suman Vaidya from the National School of Drama, along with museum officials and staff members. The exhibit has been curated by Dr. Sudipa Roy, who has thoughtfully highlighted the historical, cultural, and social significance of this distinctive craft tradition of West Bengal through a research-based perspective. Collected by the Museum in 1998, this exquisite handcrafted mat from the Mahishya community of Midnapur, West Bengal, beautifully reflects India’s rich craft traditions. Parfüm şişeleri ve kristal vazolardan önce mücevherler vardı. René Lalique, Art Nouveau döneminin vizyoner bir mücevher tasarımcısı olarak doğayı, kadın figürlerini, böcekleri ve hayal dünyasını giyilebilir sanat eserlerine dönüştürdü. Zarif, şiirsel ve dönemi için devrim niteliğindeki tasarımlarıyla geleneksel lüks mücevher anlayışından uzaklaşarak, değerli taşlardan çok sanatsal yaratıcılığa önem verdi. Mine, boynuz, opal, cam ve altını daha önce görülmemiş biçimlerde bir araya getirdi. Her bir eseri; mitoloji, kadınlık ve doğal dünyadan ilham alan küçük birer rüya gibiydi. Onun en büyük hayranlarından biri, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndaki Ermeni bir ailede dünyaya gelen Calouste Gulbenkian idi. Tutkulu bir koleksiyoncu ve sanat hamisi olan Gulbenkian, Lalique’i kariyerinin erken dönemlerinde destekledi ve eserleri için çoğu zaman olağanüstü yüksek bedeller ödedi. Günümüzde Lalique’in başyapıtlarının önemli bir bölümü, Lizbon’daki dünyaca ünlü Calouste Gulbenkian Museum koleksiyonunda yer almaktadır.
