Remember Intel's Celeron? Launched with promise, it quickly became known for slow performance. A cautionary tale in tech. #IntelCeleron #TechHistory #ComputerScience #CPU #Downfall #ProductFail #TechRetrospective #PerformanceIssues #EndOfAnEra

Pokémon Champions is out today on Switch & Switch 2 ⚔️ I purchased the starter pack and I’m pretty disappointed so far. It feels and plays like a noticeable downgrade compared to Scarlet and Violet — frame rate stuttering, rough 720p on Switch 2, and overall performance that doesn’t feel premium. Unfortunately I’m unable to get a refund due to Nintendo’s strict policy on digital purchases. We deserve better than this!!! Let’s hope it’s patched soon… Have you tried it yet? What’s your early verdict — worth it, disappointing, or waiting for patches? Reply with your thoughts or screenshots! What about Fishback work ethics? Is he trust worthy? Is he humble? Is he honest? “Fishback is a former Greenlight Research Analyst who left Greenlight on August15, 2023. Correctly deducing that he was about to be terminated for his poor performance and lack of accountability, Fishback resigned on July 31, 2023.” “Fishback lied to Greenlight even before here signed, concealing the fact that he formed Azoria as early as July 4, 2023” “Fishback falsely represented himself to industry contacts and at industry events as Greenlight’s “Head of Macro” and the person “running macro investing” at Greenlight and responsible for the “insane” performance of Greenlight’s macro investment portfolio. None of these things were true.” “Throughout the course of Fishback’s employment at Greenlight, Fishback failed tomeet even minimal performance expectations. Fishback consistently failed to devote appropriatetime and effort to his Greenlight responsibilities and was notified repeatedly that his work productwas unacceptably delayed, undeveloped, or otherwise incomplete. Furthermore, he also showeda lack of accountability, and even dishonesty” “October 2021, Mr. Einhorn informed Fishback that he was on formalnotice and that he was on “thin ice,” due in part to errors and carelessness in his performance” “Fishback’s substandard performance continued into 2022. When these performanceissues were raised to Fishback, Greenlight came to understand that he would avoid accountabilitythrough dishonesty. For instance, in the first quarter of 2022, Fishback made careless errors in hisown work on multiple occasions, but attempted to blame others in order to avoid personalaccountability.” “Fishback sent an email with the details of the trade to Greenlight’s operationsstaff informing them that the required initial margin for the transaction was $1.4 million. In reality, however, the counterparty had requested $4.1 million of initial margin.” “Fishback didnot take ownership of his mistake, instead replying that it was “a bank error.” In fact, there was no bank error.” In his 2022 performance review it stated ““[w]hen projects are assigned by David to James, they often don’t get evaluated in a timely manner and sometimes not at all”.”

“Hard Money, Soft Performance” They call it hard money. But let’s be honest—BTC is that guy at the bar talking a big game, buying everyone drinks with borrowed cash, bragging about “21 million reasons” why he’s different. He takes you home, whispers about “finite supply,” dim lights, the hum of the mining rigs outside, and for a brief, trembling moment—you believe him. Then, nothing. You wait. You smile politely. “It’s okay,” you say, “maybe it just needs a little Lightning.” He nods, sweating. “Yeah, yeah—Lightning. Just, uh, give me a second. Any moment now, we’ll be doing forty million per second.” Except the second never comes. He fumbles. He panics. He mutters about Layer 2 solutions. You can see the excuses forming like block confirmations that never clear. “It’s the mempool,” he insists. “It’s congested.” You start counting the seconds—five transactions’ worth of eternal disappointment. And you realise this isn’t hard money at all. This is soft, wheezing, unconfirmed liquidity. The kind of softness that even Tether wouldn’t back. The romance dies when he starts talking about fractional reserve efficiency. He tells you it’s not about “size”—it’s about “security.” He says things like, “You don’t understand—settlement’s a long game,” while you’re already putting your shoes back on. Because here’s the truth: you came for digital cash; you got a digital cuddle. You wanted peer-to-peer passion; you got a PowerPoint about off-chain IOUs. He promised you a revolution, but now he’s explaining how Lightning “works better in groups” and maybe if you both used Square, things could really take off. You’ve seen it before. Every “hard money” man talks big until it’s time to settle. Then it’s all “next upgrade,” “Taproot will change everything,” “you’ll see once we hit mass adoption.” You won’t. Because he can’t. Meanwhile, she’s left there, staring at five limp transactions per second, wondering why she ever fell for the “digital gold” line. The candles are out, the Lightning’s gone dark, and the only thing still running is the mouth of a man who mistook scarcity for stamina. So she leaves. She’s done waiting for block confirmation. She wants something that works. Something that actually moves. And BTC? He’s lying there, clutching his white paper like a participation trophy, mumbling, “It’s not about throughput—it’s about philosophy.” Hard money, indeed. #SoftBTC #FiveTPS #PerformanceIssues #FakeStandard #LightningAfterDark

“Hard Money: The Performance That Never Quite Happens” They call it hard money. The kind that stands proud, unyielding, impervious to inflationary temptation. But every time BTC tries to live up to the name, it ends up apologising for the performance. “Just wait,” they say. “The next upgrade will do it. Lightning will make it hard.” And yet here we are—fifteen years later—still staring at five limp transactions per second, while the disciples whisper breathlessly about future scalability like it’s tantric economics. Lightning, they promise, will fix it. But Lightning is not performance—it’s imagination. It’s the candlelight and soft music of financial foreplay, designed to make you forget that the act itself never quite happens. The reality is this: BTC can’t get it up. It can talk a good game—21 million, hard cap, digital gold—but when the moment arrives, when billions need to transact, it wilts. The proud anatomy of “peer-to-peer cash” collapses into a network of IOUs, promises, and performance anxiety. Square and Coinbase whisper reassurances: Don’t worry, baby, we’ll handle the settlement later. But “later” never comes. Because “later” can’t fit through five transactions a second. Meanwhile, the faithful stand around the bedpost chanting, “Not your keys, not your coins,” as if reciting the words will somehow make the damn thing rigid. But the physics won’t cooperate. Scarcity and throughput have never been compatible lovers. BTC’s supposed hardness is a façade—a powdered wig on a withering aristocrat. It may look noble, but it’s been dead for years. So what happens? The same thing that always happens when performance fails: someone else steps in. Custodians. Liquidity hubs. “Crypto banks.” They promise stamina where BTC has none, taking your coins in hand—ever so gently—and promising that this time, the experience will be smooth. They’ll even let you call it “peer-to-peer” if it helps. And the crowd cheers. Because in a world of deferred redemption and fractional reserve, who needs reality when you can have role-play? The truth is that hard money isn’t about posturing; it’s about finality. It’s about settling, not simulating. BTC, by contrast, has turned into the monetary equivalent of a man who writes poetry about virility but faints at the sight of a transaction. Lightning? A little blue pill made of IOUs. Custodians? The discreet doctors who promise “off-chain enhancement therapy.” And through it all, the faithful still whisper, “It’s just warming up.” But the numbers don’t lie. Five transactions per second is not a performance; it’s a medical condition. And until BTC faces that arithmetic truth, it will remain what it’s always been: a soft system pretending to be hard, a digital Casanova whose legend outperforms his reality. So yes—keep talking about hard money. Just don’t expect it to rise to the occasion. #HardMoney #SoftBTC #PerformanceIssues #PaperBitcoin #FiveTPSForever

Totally agree 👍 But at the same time I feel that BCCI should have counselled or mentored him better As a retired teacher, over 40 years I have seen many talented students go off course who could be helped with focused mentoring. It is not an uncommon issue with brilliant students/ players who feel they don’t have to work hard as every thing comes so easily to them. These super talented students/ players need to be challenged NOT disciplined #Mentorship #BrilliantStudents #PerformanceIssues

4 or 5 games up there are not riddled with performanceissues, agendadriven narratives, too expensive at launch (also prop hardware), or other nonsense. Additionally truly owning games is becoming ever more impossible now that even Nintendo has moved to downloadbar content.

gamingkaiju.com/borderlands-… Gaming Kaiju's Verdict Borderlands 4’s PC launch represents everything wrong with modern AAA game development. Gearbox has once again released a technically flawed product, charging premium prices ($70 base, $130 deluxe edition) and expecting customers to accept subpar performance. #borderlands4 #gaming #gearbox #performanceissues

I always struggle to donate blood when there’s a heatwave on. I’ve had three meals today, drunk over 2 litres of water plus other fluids and have my legs crossed busting for a pee. Don’t think I’ll need the tea and biscuits afterwards #PerformanceIssues 🥵💪💉🩸#GiveBlood

Since that makes the XUV7OO the Choice Of Champions we will have to work extra hard to get it to you ASAP. @vijaynakra I hope you see this! (By the way, I’ve ordered one for my wife & I’m still in Q! ) Sadly, the global supply chain disruptions are plaguing all car companies)

🚀 Unreal Engine 5.5 still struggles with performance issues! 🎮 The latest UE5.5 update adds impressive features like MegaLights, but shader compilation stutters and high hardware demands remain serious issues. Even high-end PCs struggle to maintain stable performance in UE5 games. 🖥️ Consoles handle UE5 better due to specialized hardware, but PC gamers face bottlenecks in data processing. Developers predict that true UE5 optimization won’t happen until RTX 6000 GPUs and next-gen consoles arrive. 🔥 #UnrealEngine5 #UE5 #Gaming #PerformanceIssues #GameDevelopment #EpicGames
