#Tripura | In a significant move to uphold discipline and professionalism within the force, the West Tripura District Police administration has issued strict directives prohibiting police personnel from creating or sharing Reels, short videos, photographs, and other social media content while in uniform if such activities compromise the dignity of the department.
A memorandum issued by the office of the Superintendent of Police, West Tripura, on June 11 stated that higher authorities had observed instances of police personnel producing and uploading social media content while wearing official uniforms. The administration expressed concern that such activities could adversely affect the image, credibility, and discipline of the Tripura Police.
The memorandum emphasized that the police uniform symbolizes authority, integrity, discipline, and public trust, and therefore must be used with utmost responsibility. Personnel have been instructed not to use the uniform for personal publicity, entertainment, commercial promotions, or any activity that could tarnish the reputation of the force.
Supervisory officers have been directed to closely monitor such activities and sensitize subordinates about maintaining the dignity of the uniform. The administration has also instructed officials to promptly report objectionable content involving uniformed personnel.
The memorandum warns that any violation of these directives will invite strict departmental action under the applicable disciplinary rules. The initiative is being viewed as an important step toward preserving the professional image of the Tripura Police.
