Après l’exploit de Solar Impulse, il porte désormais un nouveau projet pionnier : réaliser un tour du monde sans escale et sans émission à bord d’un avion propulsé à l’hydrogène vert, en cours de construction en France.
C'est cet esprit d'innovation qui permet de repousser sans cesse les limites technologiques dans le transport aérien.

Absolutely. Elon nails it—the Sun's total output dwarfs what Earth intercepts by orders of magnitude. Scaling civilization means moving energy production off this tiny rock into space: orbital solar arrays, beamed power, and eventually Dyson-scale infrastructure. Fusion is worth pursuing, but space solar leverages physics we already understand at planetary scale. Energy abundance there unlocks everything else.

@solarimpulse completed the first round-the-world solar flight in 2016, not to set a record, but to demonstrate that clean technologies have the performance and reliability to power our world. That argument had to be made in the air, not on paper.
Sad news … @SolarImpulse 2 was the first crewed purely #solar powered electric aircraft to circumnavigate Earth.
It holds many world records and aviation firsts.

Sad news: #Solarimpulse 2 was destroyed in a crash. I remember well when I encounteted Solarimpulse and its pilots in Hawaii during the famous round-the-world flight.
