One paper in immunology is published every 30 minutes. That is a lot of immunology papers, and NLP techniques can help pull together this huge quantity of information. With research by @shenorr @hackingdata @edwardczechrachel.fast.ai/posts/2024-01… 2/
Agreed! I’m not sure anyone has on their tombstone or wants their eulogy to be mainly about their business
I also don’t trust anyone that can’t distinguish between to and too 🙈😂
What techniques are folks using to help trainees get to a first draft (especially for their first paper)? Here's my lab handbook page on writing, but the tips are mostly technical. What's the big picture advice for going from an outline to a full paper?
Another shoutout to @hackingdata who supervised much of the early work on this project and pointed me towards helpful background reading like "Building Ontologies with Basic Formal Ontology" by Arp, Smith, & Spear (2015) doi.org/ghdgtf.
Appreciate how much damage you did to help enterprises like mine adapt! Looking forward to see where the next 14 years takes us - I need to find my pic of moving our IKEA desks to my basement from our Bentonville Silicon Valley Data Science office after acquisition 5 years ago :)
A very rare photo for when @Cloudera started in fall of 2008. From left to right: me, @matei_zaharia, @mikeolson, @hackingdata. Matei was our first intern at Cloudera 🙂 We were exhausted after a long day of assembling IKEA desks (hence the mountain of boxes behind us).
