SRM University-AP successfully hosted the Wiley-Mastering Research Publishing: Insights from Editor’s Desk workshop on 7th February 2025. The session featured distinguished editors Dr Rohini Kitture (Deputy Editor, Small & Small Methods, Wiley) and Dr Paramita Banerjee (Assistant Editor, Wiley, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Theory and Simulations).
The workshop provided an in-depth understanding of the scholarly publishing process, offering faculty members and PhD scholars valuable guidance on navigating high-impact journal submissions. Attendees gained insights into the editorial review process, reasons for desk rejections, and strategies to enhance their research visibility through well-crafted titles, keywords, and abstracts.
Dr Paramita Banerjee highlighted the scope and manuscript handling differences among various Wiley journals and discussed research contributions from SRM University-AP. Meanwhile, Dr Rohini Kitture shed light on the evolution of Wiley’s Small Journal, its sister publications, and the manuscript transfer option within Wiley’s network of journals. She also emphasised the significance of cover letters, correct referencing, and open-access publishing models.
The interactive session allowed participants to seek personalised advice, making it a valuable experience for early-career researchers aiming to strengthen their publication success.
