The recent actions of the former militant Mizoram Chief Minister have ignited anger and frustration, leaving many questioning where his loyalties lie - with India or his blood brothers and sisters in Myanmar, the illegal immigrants who now pose a serious threat to the integrity of Manipur, India, and national security.
While displaying humanity is commendable, it should not come at the expense of the indigenous people of Manipur. Can we afford to witness another tragic episode akin to the

#Meiteis2023?
The scars of illegal Bangladeshi immigration still haunt Assam and Tripura, yet the Mizoram CM's actions seem to indicate he is willing to plunge Manipur into a similar quagmire with Myanmar's illegal immigrants, all to benefit China's interests. This reckless approach could destabilize the entire region, jeopardizing the safety and stability of the people.
Having family across borders and belonging to the same tribe should not be an excuse to wipe out the indigenous Meiteis from their homeland of 2000 years, all the while threatening national security. Such a thoughtless stance puts the very fabric of Manipur's cultural and social identity at risk.
Furthermore, let us not forget that the MNF had previously demanded a Greater Mizoram by consolidating Chin and Kuki Zo areas during the Mizo Accord of 1986, an audacious demand that India rightfully rejected. And now, this demand has resurfaced, raising serious doubts about the former CM's intentions.
Adding fuel to the fire, the Mizoram CM has taken an unwavering stand to shelter 30,000 illegal refugees, contrary to the Indian government's position. This cavalier approach only exacerbates the already concerning situation, with several thousands of illegal immigrants already residing in Manipur and countless others unaccounted for.
To add insult to injury, the Mizoram CM's statement about not advocating whatever the BJP says further intensifies the distrust and animosity among the people. In times of crisis, unity and cooperation are essential, but such divisive rhetoric only fuels tensions and hampers the pursuit of constructive solutions.
In conclusion, the Mizoram CM's actions and statements have left many enraged and concerned about the future of Manipur and its people. It is high time for him to clarify his position and decide whether he stands with India and its people or with illegal immigrants who threaten the very fabric of the nation's security and unity. A responsible and united approach is imperative to protect the interests of Manipur's indigenous population and preserve the integrity of the nation.
