People need to understand about derogations that hospitals have been abusing the word "emergency" to force doctors to work for years. Rota gaps known about months in advance and unfilled because of poor rates are declared "emergencies" rather than offering more money. 1/2

Doctors pay dispute is only one, though totemic & overwhelming, of many serious issues affecting working conditions & unattractiveness of the NHS to doctors. Once started listing issues to express problems doctors face: XVI Theses on UK Postgraduate Doctors’ Discontent😬

Just had my rota through for the next 8 months. Despite me giving over one year's notice, they have rostered me to work 9AM-9PM on the weekend of my wedding 🙃

Not first year doctors most of their time is spent taking blood and doing tests. They aren’t doing difficult surgeries!

Truly one of the biggest threats to the quality of medical education is senior doctors mistaking ‘things I learned and understand so well I don’t have to really think about them’ for ‘things I don’t use in my day to day work’

Consecutive understaffed, unsafe night shifts without escalation rates or step down policies fill juniors with dread but trust leaders don't step in then.

Radiologists/radiographers: Is there really a difference in quality of images if contrast is given through a cannula in the ACF vs hand/wrist? Assuming same size etc

Part of it is realizing that when a patient is in the grey zone and they’re needing reviews and/or are having MET calls it’s often much less work and stress for everyone (including the patient) to have them in ICU, things that stress people out elsewhere is ICUs bread and butter
