No. Talking about it like it’s not just pretenders and those incapable of understanding (or too stressed, or impaired) has done more to distract and prevent real solutions among those who understand and care not to have this destructive thinking drive these people to ruin everything. You cannot educate malicious actors and dumb fools into a better world.
222K likes. The fixed pie fallacy is probably the single most destructive delusion on the planet. The belief that wealth cannot be created—only distributed—has done more than any other to stop people from lifting themselves and others out of poverty.

Elon Musk has enough money now to fix every McDonald's ice cream machine, but he won't because he only thinks of himself.

And when autistic and beating you up they also don’t care that you’re just nice and don’t deserve it—anymore than those portraying @elonmusk as a thief of $1.2 trillion care that they understand he didn’t. These are just talking points and rhetoric (ineffectual) of overread Mises Economics cultists who think being reasonable matters with envy politics and politicians, and their violent mobs.
Elon Musk did not today take $1 trillion from anyone. He created $2.3 trillion in value that did not exist prior to him creating SpaceX. New inventions create new value in the world. They don’t transfer existing value. If you do not understand this, please, take a basic economics course, or remain on the sidelines.

This is something of a recycle of Thomas Friedman’s point on “The World is Flat” (per reading its First Edition). This point about intelligence and understanding also isn’t enough—values and character are just as important. We have many who pretend not to understand out of convenience and who provoke envy precisely because they understand the world all to well, and pretending not to understand the world suits them better.
The problem with universal suffrage is that the more technologically advanced a civilization becomes, the smaller the fraction of people there are in it with the native intelligence to understand how it works. When the majority of humanity was employed in whacking at the dirt with a pointed stick, and the height of technology was a slightly better pointed stick, anyone with a triple digit IQ could understand what was going on. Now, we have things like stock markets, the internet, transportation infrastructure, and the Linux kernel, but most people who vote are unable to conceive of these as anything but large piles of chocolate coins, or something else they can put their mouths. Because that's how the average monkey interacts with money. They stack the blocks, the research assistant gives them a token, they exchange the token for a banana. It's no good trying to explain to the monkeys what supply chain is, or how a trillion dollars worth of rockets can't magically be converted into a trillion dollars worth of bananas just because they're both measured in dollars, as if a six-foot man and a six-foot plank of wood were interchangeable. Finding a slightly different explanation, or getting the monkeys to sit still and really listen, doesn't really help. Because the problem isn't just that the monkeys aren't paying attention. The problem is that the monkeys are monkeys. Their brains simply don't have the developmental capacity to grow the neural connections they would need in order to grasp and manipulate the concept. In the long term, this is why universal democracy is doomed. Because societies that let retards vote will fail, and be replaced by those that don't. You may think that we, as a society, face a great variety of problems. We do not. We have only one. Retards. Every other problem we have is downstream from their inability to understand the consequences of their political opinions. But to fully grasp the implications of this, you have to understand that the definition of "retard" changes over time, as technology advances, because the IQ level required to grasp what's really going on gets steadily higher and higher. Eventually, the category "retard" grows until it includes the average person. This has already happened. Nick Knudsen isn't dumber than the average guy. But the average guy, the 100 IQ salt of the earth guy that's sitting on the next bar stool over, can no longer understand the modern economy. And this isn't correctable, because the problem isn't ignorance, it's complexity. You can't make Nick Knudsen smarter by telling him things. You can't even make him less ignorant, because the bare facts aren't believable to someone who doesn't have the framework to understand how they fit together. The people who understand what's going on are so much smarter than him that he doesn't even think they sound smart. He thinks they sound crazy.

Called it about @AnthropicAI Mythos and Fables making. 😁
This is not a federal crime given there is no “hacking” involved. “Jailbreak” is an analogous term and misleading. A “jailbreak” for an AI model to which access is granted is not hacking, fraud, or abuse— It is simply using the system and finding a way to ask it “let me do” or else encountering a bug. It is up to the provider to then restrict access all over. Claiming otherwise is a bad idea given then bad actors may be the only ones doing so (and obviously not revealing methods usable to reinforce or change your “safeguards”). (And your management may think otherwise, but remember by giving out false and misleading, legal information. You may create some serious problems for the company.) @AnthropicAI I’ve worked in…interesting environments and gotten to explain the SCOTUS applicable rulings on these things to otherwise imperious people (who then were left somewhat stumped). Your AI is recycling never-true former-use federal interpretations of laws that died the moment they faced actual judicial scrutiny when a target refused to bend and challenged charges in court… false legal advice is very bad and building anything to rely on them worse— And you’re presenting @Claude as a world changing frontier expert system which means you have no basis to disclaim liability. That despite it cannot get basics on many topics—even extremely well documented ones—correct. This is unlike, for example, the humility about @grok by @elonmusk and team at @SpaceX @xai Don’t do that to investors after already telling all technical experts yesterday that they must start moving off anything by the @AnthropicAI management members yesterday. :\ I mean, by your own admission, the administration might just be able to seize all your assets tomorrow and arrest you all for building the equivalent of a nuclear bomb without permission—and despite the experts knowing that is not what you did, that is basically what you keep telling the world, and so you could be convicted on your own words and stated intentions as desiring to do so. @SCOTUSblog @realDonaldTrump @PeteHegseth @jpmorgan @HallEstill

Everyone should celebrate this.
A man working as a welder at SpaceX for $28 an hour has just become a millionaire. Juan Hernandez, who came from Mexico, welded rockets for SpaceX at $28 an hour. SpaceX gave him $10,000 in stock when he went full time in 2015, and he bought more with every paycheck for 10 years. $SPCX is now trading at $167, making his shares worth over $1 million.

It is easy to understand the mindset of someone who is angry that @elonmusk became a trillionaire. Either they envy, or they don’t understand much and believe when they are told “he is stealing FROM YOU.” This rhetorical incredulity rather hurts us all, rather than bringing the real issues into view.
It's impossible to understand the mindset of someone who is angry that Elon became a trillionaire. How is this not inspiring? Why is this met with seething hatred and vitriol? ~4500 new millionaires were just created from SpaceX employees alone. He just broke the financial 4 minute mile for others. The public now gets to participate in upside over the next decades. When you see something like this, why do some minds jump to wanting to tear this down? You should feel INSPIRED and believe that YOU TOO can be successful. Before everything became politicized, Elon Musk was a role model to every kid who had ambition and wanted to be more. It was either "I want to be Steve Jobs," or "I want to be Elon Musk." Why do you now not want to be more? You got hurt somewhere along the way. Why not see something and say "I am going to do that too!" The hateful destructive coping crying mindset will NEVER improve your life. At least the other mindset gives you a CHANCE at a better future. Why not choose inspiration? Why not try at life again?

Someone tell the Libertarians and Misian types that those who understand “Keynesian stimulus” either already know that talking points and concepts and oppose such transfers or are those who want and benefit from such transfers. This old shtick is wasted breath at this point.
Jun 12
Keynesian stimulus doesn't create wealth; it moves existing wealth from your pocket to Boeing's balance sheet. The $800 billion Obama stimulus went straight to construction companies with the right lobbyists, while you got higher taxes and inflation. It's a pure coincidence that the biggest recipients happened to be major campaign donors. The beautiful lie sells itself: "We're stimulating the economy!" You work harder for less purchasing power, while Lockheed Martin executives buy third vacation homes. They call this "aggregate demand management" in economics textbooks (apparently theft sounds more scientific with fancy terminology).

I'd rather you tell everyone about the $1.9m that a Delaware court ruled that you stole in 2024 and were ordered to pay back. Listen up everyone, I know this Thomas Braziel character and have personal exposed him in lies many times. He's got lower ethics than a used car salesman which is to say he doesn't have any at all. Can't imagine why he's attacking $ADA but it certainly isn't because you have good intentions. He's a grifter and thief of the highest order IMO. wsj.com/articles/ftx-claims-…

Another problem in #Cardano is stuff like this—I get this from the PoV of @IOHK_Charles since he’s flamed by endless psyops and paid bandwagons. But putting a community onto a private, hostile reservation questionable from its origins, without any offer or affirmationn of valuing freedom of expression… Discord has never been a good idea and should be used like a glowing toxic piece of malware for people who you may need to connect to who lack judgment. (On a device locked down and using a -2 hypervisor to contain it, at least.) Cardano has a **lot** of chasing what is popular or hyped such as for marketing rather than entering around leveraging its tech stack for the intrinsically and value. In part because so many infra builders desperately need token activity—but building bridges between empty town allotment is building infrastructure and still won’t lead to activity that could ever repay those infra builders. @bigpey @adamKDean @EdnStuff @phil_uplc
Dropping by to let everyone know that I spoke with @phillip_pon and we are working out a plan to create a discord for a great migration of the Cardano community from X. We can have happy, positive, well-moderated channels and leave behind the drama, lies, endless rage, and embittered people for a place where real conversations and real progress can be made. I will continue broadcasting live streams to X as I have a million followers here, but will only take AMA questions from the new Cardano and current Midnight discords. I've seen some commentary that broadcasting means I'm back on X. For those people, I can't solve stupid. Enjoy your scandals of the week and FUD. Real work is done elsewhere. Looking forward to Cardano ascending to better days, governance, and culture.

One problem that #Cardano has is like this: I see this account @CashAnvil, go to the account, and start scrolling… 30 seconds later I still don’t know what #Anvil is, does, offers—the account it is for doesn’t tell me but is run as a personal comms and I have things to do. I move on. @bigpey @adamKDean @phil_uplc @EdnStuff

I put my entire life into Cardano. My time, my expertise, my savings. I’ve literally gone all in, and for over 5 years now. No salary for 3 years, along with my co founder, and every payroll was paid on time. This isn’t meant as a guilt trip just context towards my reality. I forced my cofounders to envelope the ‘entrepreneur mindset’ and make sacrifices to make our vision of Anvil work. I thought we were in good company in Cardano. A bunch of scrappy, smart people who are building the future financial rails of the world. Unfortunately, not everyone was living like starving entrepreneurs and looted our community/treasury while keeping cushy salaries. Now the price is in the teens…and we can’t even get contracts on Cardano to sustain our business, with no indication that change is coming, all community business proposals are not passing atm. I gave up my 30s for this. I had a great career trajectory making solid money. I don’t regret the decision I just wish it went different. Believe it or not, we didn’t make many stupid decisions, we were responsible with salaries, and ran very lean operations. Did we fail? Or did Cardano fail to flourish and create real opportunity? I bought Ada, I believed in the token. I dropped my 401k on it. Held it religiously for 5 years, all to sell at .16 so I don’t lose my house? It’s insane lol was I supposed to sell on everyone’s heads? I thought being a believer was the whole point now I just feel like a sheep. I don’t even have the 100k Ada required anymore to go straight to the treasury. The only thing I can think of that hurt worse were my kidney stones. This is the most defeated I have felt in a long time. And now I’m watching 8 months of hard work and relationship building get thrown away. Can’t get a hold of half the DReps otherwise you come off as annoying. Didn’t do a Japan tour? Good luck! I had to waste 6 days explaining to one of our top DReps why the product needs Cardano. He basically said we didn’t need to use blockchain or cardano. Instead of explaining the value we create I gotta convince our top DReps why a project chose to build on Cardano? 🤯 Im not perfect but I damn sure tried to be! Answered everyone promptly, reached out to DReps, and did our best to listen/apply feedback. I show up everyday. Can someone explain to me why I should keep trying to build here? I’ve legit lost everything but my wife who isn’t getting any happier with me. Today is the first day I work towards getting my life back. IDK exactly what that means but I’m done feeling like this for nothing.
