AB Farmers: I'm working at the University of Alberta and we're looking for canola fields with high flea beetle pressure (striped or crucifer) for beetle collection. If you’ve seen heavy damage or know of affected fields we could access, please reply. #fleabeetles #canola

The Bank of Canada is now reporting that the counter-tariffs implemented by the Liberals last year did impact both inflation and food inflation. This is exactly what our Lab had been saying for months, but few reporters wanted to hear it. Sad.

Let me get this straight. You’ve been in power for ten years. You’ve doubled the debt. You’ve weakened the economy. And now, your answer is to trap young Canadians? On stage, the Liberal Party of Canada brings out Patrick Pichette, a former senior executive at Google, who now lives in Europe, to suggest that Canadians who want to pursue opportunities in the United States should face an exit tax of $500,000. Half a million dollars to leave your own country. This, from someone who once left Canada himself to build a career in the U.S. and paid virtually nothing to do so. So let’s be honest about what this is. It is not economic policy. It is not nation building. It is control. A government that has mismanaged the economy now wants to limit your ability to seek opportunity elsewhere. Instead of creating reasons to stay, they are looking for ways to make it harder to leave. You do not grow a country by locking people in. You grow it by giving them a reason to believe in it.

If Alberta can't get a pipeline unless it's oil is "decarbonized," why doesn't Quebec, New Brunswick, and Ontario have to buy decarbonized oil?

Edmonton Riverbend has never voted Liberal. Edmonton—Leduc, the riding that preceded it, also never voted Liberal. Edmonton Southwest, the riding that preceded that one, also never voted Liberal. This riding has NEVER been Liberal. So why does Matt Jeneroux think they want to be represented by Liberals?

Can you believe this? Last year, the Liberal government spent $19 BILLION on consultants. $8 MILLION for gender-just, low-carbon rice in Vietnam $22 MILLION for Beans for Women’s Empowerment in Congo $33 MILLION on a prison farm Now, that same government claims it has no choice but to shut down agricultural research facilities and lay off Canadian scientists and researchers. Billions for consultants. Cuts for Canadian agriculture. Make it make sense.

What are the top Liberal hoaxes sold to us relentlessly the past decade? * The world is about to burn up due to climate change. * Fake Indigenous graves * Carbon is pollution * Addicts are best off if we give them free hard drugs. * Allowing street encampments and letting violent criminals go free is equitable and just. * High carbon taxes, racist and sexist DEI regulations and other crippling redtape has nothing to do with investment flying from Canada to the USA and elsewhere, nothing to do with our failing prosperity. Now the Carney Liberals have a new hoax. Their best hoax ever. That the Liberals --with their immense power and radical agenda for change -- aren't responsible for the rancid economic and social policies of the past 11 years. That the Liberals didn't not cause devastating economic and social harm in Canada. No, it's all Trump's fault. Everything is Trump's fault. The Liberals will never take responsibility for their hideous mistakes. And they will keep cooking up new hoaxes to distract their base from reality.

BREAKING: A major water main break in Calgary’s Bowness area on Tuesday evening caused severe flooding along 16 Avenue N.W., trapping vehicles and forcing firefighters to rescue 13 people from seven cars near the CP Rail bridge by 69 Street N.W. Parts of Parkdale, Montgomery, and Point McKay are now under an immediate boil water advisory due to depressurization and potential quality concerns. Residents must boil water for at least one minute before drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, or making infant formula. Bathing and laundry are unaffected. The flooding occurred on the same stretch of 16 Avenue heavily damaged during the catastrophic feeder main rupture in June 2024. The city says the break is likely connected to the Bearspaw south feeder main, though the exact cause and extent of damage remain under investigation. Westbound lanes of 16 Avenue were closed between Home Road and Sarcee Trail, with the roadway shut down entirely for several hours. Around 2,000 homes and 100 businesses were impacted, according to city officials. No serious injuries have been reported. Calgary has activated its Emergency Operations Centre, Municipal Emergency Plan, and Stage 4 water restrictions. Crews are working overnight, with further updates expected later in the morning.

Winter’s back, and so is Quebec’s energy hypocrisy. Quebec relies on Alberta oil and gas, then receives equalization payments funded by the very industry it condemns. Meanwhile, Blanchett tells Alberta to “stop drilling” and “transition” our economy which is easy to say from a province with no production and plenty of revenue. Let’s have honest federalism: if you rely on Alberta energy, don’t vilify the people who produce it or the province that helps pay the bills.

I worked for 20 years in "Big Ag" so you don’t have to. This is what they don’t want you to know: Farmers don’t have time for conspiracy theories. Romanticize farming all you want, but without modern tools, you’d starve. GM crops aren't frankenfood. They cut pesticide use, resist drought, and improve yields, all while passing some of the strictest safety checks in science. They are the least unknown crops. Your food is safe. Period. Pesticides are tested more rigorously than most medicines. Farming isn’t killing the planet. Modern farming uses less land, less water, and fewer inputs than ever before. Innovation is the solution, not the problem. Organic farming still use pesticides. Some are more toxic and less effective than synthetic alternatives, meaning higher doses are needed. If you really care about feeding the world and protecting the planet, focus on facts, not fear. My name is Simon and my goal is to make people smarter, not angrier. Drop a “Hi” in the comments and let me know if you have any questions about Ag!

New Zealand has now stopped the use of puberty blockers on minors, acknowledging the lack of credible evidence and the growing concerns over long-term harm. They’ve joined Alberta, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the United States in taking  these kinds of important steps to protect children. This is the right direction and Alberta applauds their decision. Read full article: ctvnews.ca/health/article/ne…
