This isolation thing has given me a bit of time to look at things I wouldn't have had the time to. This time it's @AQAMaths' legacy qualification - Additional Maths, 9306. (2008 - 2011).
There's some super questions in there!
Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control the school has to remain shut this morning. Staff have been asked to put work online through google classroom. Please retweet all!
That’s the mocks done, year 11 ✅✅On the home straight now for maths in November. Check out our revision page that features resources you have used in school and lots of videos from your teachers sway.office.com/m7xviRD66yj6… You can do it!!! 💪🏼 @Radyr_Maths@Radyr_Numeracy@radyrcs
How can teachers be this shattered at this stage of term 1? Somethings got to give. Leaders in education - save the profession NOW before too many are lost this academic year. Reduce workload, strip accountability back, sort behaviour.
Love giving solutions like these to some of my Y8 pupils, and asking them to discuss in pairs the reasoning behind the solution methods - then try to explain back to us. Great starting point for deepening understanding of how and why things work. (Courtesy of Winchester papers).
Parents, if your child has had a good first couple of days back, send their school a message.
They will have been anxious about the return too. A positive message will mean the world.
Since reading @FunkyPedagogy’s (amazing!) Metacognition Handbook I’ve been considering how I can teach more metacognitively. I’ve made this flowchart in the hope it will help students to think & learn more independently - excited to trial it in September and see its impact!
Can anyone recommend a good booklet/pack of problem solving questions suitable for Year 7's coming in September? I'm keen to give them something which can be used as extension work when students finish tasks. Thanks!

Looking for some good quick maths games for head-to-head competition between students. We've got Number rumba, Genius square, Set and shut the box so far.
Any ideas? @mathsjem@missradders@giftedHKO
I'm hunting for any investigative/outdoor/practical maths lessons to use with KS3 in the next few weeks... Still developing real skills from the curriculum... Any ideas or websites please? @mathsjem@PixiMaths
