We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season. Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell.
This is not sustainable @wesstreeting. It’s also a gross waste of taxpayers money to be training people in the UK for them to have no job. So much for doubling medical student numbers - our brightest 16-18 year olds know to look at a graph like 👇and look elsewhere
Reports from @FT show 6k applicants for just 1700 training posts last year.
Doctors are being left in limbo, without posts and unable to progress in their career.
In an understaffed NHS this is a scandal. Government must urgently increase training posts. ft.com/content/ddb51e41-8b24…
ICU Mechanical Ventilation (MV):
There are many books & articles on the topic but this 8 years' old review has nice graphs/tables & a good discussion of the specific ventilatory approaches in ARDS and COPD:
NEW: Appalling performance from @NHSBSA 👇
60,000 NHS RPSS statements still outstanding. NHSBSA said they were meant to start coming out in April 2024, the *statutory* deadline was Oct 2024
Thank you again @drlukeevans for highlighting the mess around pensions admin and AA tax
Cognitive dissonance; ’please work harder and more efficiently to reduce the backlog’ vs ‘we accept your pay has been hugely eroded, including against comparators but regardless that you need 14% each year to return to trend you can have 2.8%’. Cloud cuckoo land.
(6) in my view it’s past time @DHSCgovuk@HMRCgovuk to put out urgent guidance that due to the administration failures of @nhs_pensions (and to be fair other pensions agencies affecting doctors) that deadlines need to be formally relaxed around RPSS and SA for 23/24

Both my parents are consultant doctors.
Growing up, I watched them constantly work overtime and not get paid a single penny.
Not once was their overtime work properly acknowledged.
Now when a minority of doctors are getting paid their overtime worth, the vicious attacks begin.
Slightly bad faith headline which seems to try and equate the crimes of Harold Shipman with any arguments there may be in favour of assisted dying.
"GP in Shipman Inquiry is now pro-assisted dying" bbc.com/news/articles/c3vlx0…
Cognitive errors and distortions are common in the ICU
