Fugitive Night. Spent the evening with skilled professionals from @UtahCorrections like @Hudspeth_J_LEB & Spencer Turley and colleagues from @GovCox team apprehending felons out on warrants. Our AP&P teams are effective and dedicated to keeping the public safe in Utah.

We appreciate our partnership with Juvenile Justice Services and other community partners. We are committed to supporting our youth and building trust.
Our Outreach & Community Engagement Team recently met with administration at the Salt Lake Valley Youth Detention Center to discuss a new pilot program. It will be directed toward the goals of youth reform and preventative measures to help eliminate the school-prison nexus.

Great work by Utah. A win for survivors of sexual assault. We must now continue the investigative work in pursuit of justice.
Recently, Commissioner Anderson, members of the Legislature and several of our key partners gathered at the State Crime Lab to announce the completion of a milestone in the DNA testing of sexual assault kits. Read more here: dpsnews.utah.gov/utah-announ…

Utah eliminates sexual assault kit backlog. 11,193 sexual assault kits tested. 5,025 DNA profiles entered into national database. 1,979 suspected identified through search of the DNA database. The turnaround time to process a kit is now 90 days instead of years. #utpol
