Believe it or not, the brain benefits are what initially drew me to high-intensity interval training. It immediately improves my mood and focus. And 10 minutes of vigorous exercise is all you need to increase neuronal connections, executive function, and impulse control.

If you want to create a healthy low back, do this: Bird dogs help spinal stability. McGill crunches improves core stability. Side planks strengthens the obliques and hips. Hip thrusts strengthen your glutes. Pair these with walking and your low back will thank you.

Exercise is an antidepressant. A new meta-analysis of 26 randomized controlled studies found that both aerobic and resistance training significantly reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety, often rivaling standard treatments like medication and therapy. Although both modes were beneficial, aerobic exercise had a slightly greater impact on depression, while resistance training showed a modest edge for anxiety. Many of the included studies didn't even meet the minimum weekly physical activity recommendations for aerobic or resistance exercise, and even then, reduced depressive and anxiety symptoms significantly. For those with depression or anxiety, movement is powerful medicine. And the dose needed might be smaller than you think.

"Hyperpalatability, energy density, nutrient composition & appearance of ultra processed foods (UPF) might disrupt satiety signaling & encourage overconsumption. Processing also increases the % of calories consumed that are absorbed into the body rather than excreted." #obesity
#Obesity is more strongly linked to high-calorie diets, particularly from ultra-processed foods, than to lack of #Exercise. Reducing processed food intake may be key to addressing rising obesity rates. @PNASNews doi.org/g9s844 medicalxpress.com/news/2025-…

Time for a movement snack! Take your pick (lower/upper body): 🥪 10 bodyweight squats 🥪 10 pushups 🥪 10 lateral leg lifts 🥪 10 side bends 🥪 10 lunges (fwd, rev, side) 🥪 10 forward hinges (good mornings) 🥪 10 step-ups (box, stair, chair) 🥪 3 sun salutations 🥪 3 burpees
New Research: Just 10 body weight air squats every 45 minutes is more effective at regulating blood sugar than a 30-minute walk! A new study found that performing 10 body weight squats every 45 minutes during an 8.5-hour period of sitting improves blood sugar regulation better than a single 30-minute walk. Brief, intense bursts of activity, often called ‘exercise snacks,’ offer a potent strategy to mitigate the health risks associated with our sedentary lifestyles. How easy is it to get up and do 10 squats every 45 minutes?! If you can't do full squats do half squats or quarter squats - simply using the largest muscles in your body will be powerful. *Create an alarm/alert on your phone so that you never forget!
