Over 25 years ago, the FDA approved mifepristone as a safe and effective drug for abortion and miscarriage management. Yet, Republicans across the country are trying to use the 19th-century Comstock Act to prevent access by mail. Two years ago, the Supreme Court stopped one such effort in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, but the pending Louisiana v. FDA case could reverse course.  As Chair of the Abortion Access and Rights Task Force in the @ReproCaucus, I’m fighting to repeal the abortion-related provisions of the Comstock Act so everyone can get the reproductive care they need when they need it.

I co-led the introduction of the Right to Contraception Act because millions of people use contraception every day to protect their health, protect the health of others, or manage medical conditions.   The House passed this legislation in 2022, and I signed @RepFletcher's discharge petition to force another vote on the floor so we can secure the right to contraception for people in the #FightingFifth and across the country.

61 years ago, the Supreme Court recognized the constitutional right to birth control. More than ever before, this right is under attack. That’s why I signed onto @RepFletcher's discharge petition to force a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. I voted for this bill when the House passed it in 2022 and am proud to join the effort to bring this critical bill to a vote again!

At a moment when reproductive freedom & access to health care are under constant attack in Washington, their work has never been more important. When I was young and uninsured, I relied on Planned Parenthood. That's why I'll never stop fighting to ensure they have the resources they need to continue serving patients across our state.

NEW: I just signed a discharge petition to fast track a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. 8 in 10 Americans—of both parties—support protecting access to birth control. But a few extremist lawmakers could threaten this critical health care.  I'm taking action.

Hard to believe but absolutely true that the right of Americans to use the birth control that works for them is under attack. Today, I filed a discharge petition to protect that right by demanding a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. I encourage all of my colleagues to join me in protecting the right of all Americans to use the form of contraception that works best for them, and for them—not the government—to decide whether and when to grow their families.

This weekend marked the 61st anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut, the Supreme Court decision that recognized the right of married couples to use birth control. Since that ruling, access to contraception has broadened significantly, but now the GOP are trying to reverse this progress. That’s why I signed the discharge petition to force a vote on the Right to Contraception Act. Eight in ten Americans support the Right to Contraception Act, which ensures the right for Americans to access contraception and protects the right of health care providers to provide contraceptives.

Planned Parenthood empowers women to make their own decisions about their futures, families and health. We’re working together to ensure every woman – no matter her zip code, income level or political party – has access to affordable, safe and comprehensive health care.

Planned Parenthood is on the front lines of protecting women’s healthcare. I was glad to sit with them to talk about how we can work together to ensure our communities can access the vital services they provide – like cancer screenings, birth control, and family planning.
