Florida is one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, and it’s important we remain ready during this period of rapid growth. Productive conversation with @FHBAOfficial about workforce development, permitting, building codes and legislation to support our state's housing availability. Florida is the place to be, and as more people move to our region, I’ll continue working to cut unnecessary red tape, support responsible growth and help keep the dream of homeownership within reach.

Rooting out waste, fraud and abuse shouldn't be controversial. But 179 House Democrats couldn't bring themselves to support a resolution condemning those who exploit government programs for personal gain. Taxpayers deserve accountability, and they deserve leaders willing to stand up for it.

From roads and schools to businesses and homes, Florida's future is being built every day by a skilled construction workforce. Enjoyed meeting with @ABCofFL to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Florida's construction industry. A strong workforce and removing barriers to growth are critical to ensuring Florida remains the best place to live, work and do business.

Eleven spending bills done, with one to go. This Homeland Security bill strengthens border security, combats fentanyl and human trafficking, supports first responders and advances critical homeland security priorities while maintaining responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
Republicans put up 11 runs on the Congressional Baseball field. Appropriators matched it with 11 FY27 bills reported out of full committee. Congrats to @MarkAmodeiNV2 on leading his last full committee markup and advancing his Homeland Security bill! bit.ly/3Qz0ekY

Florida’s water resources are vital to our state's environment, economy and way of life. Great discussion on Everglades restoration, Lake Okeechobee water quality and FL water priorities with @evergfoundation. As a member of the Energy and Water @HouseAppropsGOP Subcommittee, I'll continue working to advance these critical projects to improve water quality, strengthen Florida's ecosystems and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.

Great catching up with Josh Churchwell and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Florida's cattle producers. From the Farm Bill to New World screwworm response and herd rebuilding efforts, policy decisions made by Congress and federal agencies have real consequences for Florida cattlemen. Hearing directly from our cattle producers helps ensure these decisions are informed by the realities they're facing on the ground.

I’m very happy to see the groundbreaking for Lakeland’s much-needed Fire Department Station 8. Going back to my years on the City Commission, we’ve anticipated the explosive growth in northwest Lakeland and the corresponding necessity to expand resources for our first responders. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible and for your continued commitment to keeping our community safe.

Today, we remember the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy and helped change the course of history. Their courage and sacrifice secured freedom for generations, and their legacy must never be forgotten.

Hurricane season is here, and preparedness matters. Take time to check your emergency supplies, review evacuation plans and make sure your household is ready if severe weather develops. Stay safe and stay ready, FL-18.👇 franklin.house.gov/hurricane…

Yesterday, I chaired a House Science Committee Environment Subcommittee hearing examining how the EPA can better align its scientific work with the real-world needs of its regulatory offices. More than 50 years after EPA was founded, environmental challenges, exposure routes and chemical transport have changed dramatically - and the agency’s research structure must keep pace. Through the new Office of Applied Science and Environmental Solutions, EPA has an opportunity to deliver timely, practical and sound science that strengthens decision-making and better protects human health and the environment. I look forward to seeing how this new office helps EPA advance research that is more responsive, efficient and grounded in real-world results.

Artificial intelligence is moving fast, and Congress needs to keep pace. Pleased to work with @JayObernolte on the Great American AI Act discussion draft. This proposal builds on the bipartisan House AI Task Force's work and takes a needed step toward establishing clear rules of the road for advanced AI systems while encouraging innovation.
Artificial intelligence is changing the way Americans live, work, learn, and compete. Congress needs to do its job in regulating this new technology with a clear national framework that protects Americans while ensuring the United States remains the global leader in AI. 9 spending bills down, 3 to go. We're now three-quarters of the way through the annual appropriations process. Last night's Transportation and Housing bill included funding for aviation safety, ports, waterways, highways and border security, focusing resources on the transportation networks and infrastructure Americans rely on every day.
The tally continues! We just hit 9 bills out of full committee. The FY27 THUD measure, led by @Rep_SteveWomack, advances critical investments in infrastructure, mobility, and housing while strengthening communities and building a more connected America.

Thrilled to see the Administration support the FY27 Agriculture Appropriations Act ahead of today's vote. As Vice Chair of the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, I'm proud of the work that went into crafting a bill that strengthens key ag programs, supports rural communities and remains a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars. Looking forward to moving it one step closer to the President's desk.

Another week, another funding bill through @HouseAppropsGOP! Yesterday, we advanced Interior and Environment, bringing the committee's FY27 appropriations tally to eight of twelve. The legislation supports Florida's national parks, strengthens water infrastructure and keeps the focus on responsible spending.
That makes it 8 out of full committee! At its core, the FY27 Interior bill - led by @CongMikeSimpson – is about strong stewardship. We effectively balance conservation, responsible resource development, and the long-term management of our public lands. bit.ly/4e3SYpa

Waste, fraud and abuse undermine public trust and divert resources away from those who truly need assistance. This week, the House is voting on several bills to crack down on fraud, strengthen accountability and ensure taxpayer dollars are used as intended: 👉 H.R. 7726, the Stop Child Care Scams Act 👉 H.R. 8872, the Preventing Waste, Fraud, and Abuse Act 👉 H.R. 7892, the No Aid for Ghost Students Act

(1/2) This year's freeze devastated Florida ag, causing billions in losses across our state. Today, I introduced the Florida Freeze Disaster Assistance Act with @RepKatCammack, @SenRickScott and @SenAshleyMoody, backed by nearly all of Florida's congressional delegation. My legislation helps American producers recover from catastrophic losses, preserve domestic production and reduce dependence on foreign competitors. subscriber.politicopro.com/a…
