Two DHS secretaries have still given me no answer as to how Mohammad Nazeer Paktiawal died in ICE custody.
Mohammad bravely fought alongside our servicemembers in Afghanistan and was granted asylum here in the United States.
Now, the Trump Administration wants to go even further and deport all Afghans who were granted asylum in the U.S. while helping our servicemembers.
It’s an insult to their sacrifice, and I’ll continue to fight for their recognition.

A political opponent recently posted a deepfake video of me on social media. It was generated using AI and fabricated my voice and image to put words in my mouth. While it represents a new - and dangerous - low, it was not unpredictable.
It just drives home why we need to act now to give people protections against unauthorized AI replicas of their name and likeness. Let’s start by passing my NO FAKES Act.

I joined @RepMikeLawler in introducing the bipartisan Prior Authorization Reform for Autoimmune & Blood Disorders Act.
Patients with chronic autoimmune diseases and blood disorders shouldn't have to repeatedly prove they have the same condition just to access care.
Our bill limits prior authorizations to once per year, helping reduce delays, cut red tape, and put patients first.

Proud to introduce the FED UP with Bleeding Disorders Act! It takes an average of 16 years for a woman with a bleeding disorder to receive a proper diagnosis. For too long, women and girls have been excluded from research and denied the care they deserve.
That’s why I fought to protect bleeding disorder programs from reckless cuts and worked alongside the @nbd_foundation and @BleedingTexas to improve timely diagnosis and care.
