Forget about Israel for a moment.
I don't think this deal is in America's best interest, and I don't think Trump understands Iran or the extent of its religious fanaticism.
We killed the religious leader of tens of millions of Shia Muslims living under a fanatical theocratic regime, then left his son in power, surrounded by religious zealots who are more than willing to play the long game and carry out a 9/11-style attack against us ten years from now in revenge for what we did to them and their leader.
The Taliban used to say about us "You have the clocks, we have the time"
Islamists view the world from a collectivist perspective, so they are perfectly comfortable planning apocalyptic wars in the hope that their sons will carry them out decades later. This is what Iran will do now.
Trump is simply wrong to allow them to regroup and regain military power, and you can reach that conclusion without giving Israel a single thought.
