This is a reality that many prefer to ignore. For more than a century, Palestinian have repeatedly rejected proposals that could have led to the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel. A movement genuinely committed to statehood does not educate generations of children to view the destruction of its neighbor as a national aspiration. It does not preserve refugee status across generations instead of preparing its people for a future of coexistence. And it does not walk away from opportunities for compromise while insisting on demands that make a negotiated settlement impossible.
The uncomfortable truth is that the conflict persists not because the Palestinians were denied a state, but because they never accepted the idea of a Jewish state alongside them. They do not seek coexistence with Israel; they seek to replace Israel with a Palestinian state. Until that fundamental reality changes, peace will remain out of reach.

Well, until 10/7 I was a 2ss guy and still don't know of an alternative long term bc they aren't going anywhere

with all due respect i think this energy would be better spent bemoaning the fact that AIPAC-supported dems functionally do not support the 2ss than by trying to generate scurrilous attacks against thoughtful critics who are furthering justice, coexistence, and peace like lander

I know, but he's avoiding the 1ss/2ss and the Zionist/anti-Zionist polarization. AIPAC is now generally unpopular in the Democratic Party, more unifying than polarizing in that district. I don't see Goldman rushing to their defense in response.

I'm curious if @bradlander said anything to this particular group in support of a secure and just 2ss based on principles of self-determination and mutual recognition. Or just the a/s anti-Aipac dog whistling

How so? Are you prepared to forcibly demolish every single illegal Israeli settlement and force the Israelis living there back within their borders?
Because I never hear all these 2SS advocates address that part.

@bradlander attacks AIPAC even though he concedes it's an a/s dog whistle. On the campaign, it's genocide-genocide-genocide. Not a word from him about a 2ss or Israeli-Palestinian co-existence. Nothing to ruffle his team on the DSA....
