Always felt that a great leading indicator of a team/product doing well is how much they ship. But are they shipping the right thing? I suspect there is feedback in both directions 1. If you know you are shipping the right thing, you ship more. Conviction -> Output 2. If you ship a lot, you learn faster what the right thing is to ship. And responsiveness: How fast do they go from new idea to new product shipped. How fast and decisive do they respond to the result of their own reasoning (i.e. they don't need public confirmation to make a move). I'm very impressed by teams like @RelayProtocol or @AngleProtocol who shipped multiple tools in short succession that you probably never heard of (but which all were highest quality), until they hit on the thing you now know them for. If I were to invest, I'd check people's GitHub. Like this, below is @gakonst and @pablo_veyrat 2022. Look at the consistency. What are other leading indicators? Probably: writing quality (Angle also had cuttingly insightful blogposts on stables), msg reponse speed of founders. And are these already obvious baseline indicators for many who invest? What am I missing? not an investor much, but this been living rent free in my head --- I find this much more promising than following whatever is in the trend/narrative right now. Which, to me, always sounds like a lagging indicator (and therefore quite a bad strategy for investing & building).
