🦉கிபி 1752 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் 15 ஆம் தேதியன்று, அமெரிக்க அறிவியல் அறிஞர் பெஞ்சமின் பிராங்க்ளின், வானில் தோன்றும் மின்னல் என்பது ஒரு வகையான மின்சாரமே என்பதைத் தனது புகழ்பெற்ற பட்டம் விடும் பரிசோதனையின் மூலம் உலகிற்கு நிரூபித்துக் காட்டினார். இடியுடன் கூடிய மழைக் காலத்தில், பட்டுத் துணியால் செய்யப்பட்ட பட்டத்தின் நுனியில் ஒரு இரும்பு கம்பியைக் கட்டி, நூலின் மறுமுனையில் ஒரு உலோகச் சாவியை இணைத்து அவர் வானில் பறக்கவிட்டார்; அப்போது மேகங்களில் இருந்த மின்சாரம் நனைந்த நூலின் வழியே இறங்கி உலோகச் சாவியை அடைந்ததை உணர்ந்ததோடு, அதன் மூலம் தீப்பொறியையும் வரவழைத்துக் காட்டினார். அறிவியல் வரலாற்றில் திருப்புமுனையாக அமைந்த ஆபத்து நிறைந்த இந்த அதிரடிப் பரிசோதனை, மின்னல் பற்றிய பயத்தைப் போக்கி, அது ஒரு இயற்கையான மின் நிகழ்வு என்பதை உறுதிப்படுத்தியது. இந்த மாபெரும் கண்டுபிடிப்பின் விளைவாகவே, பிற்காலத்தில் உயரமான கட்டிடங்களை மின்னல் பாதிப்பிலிருந்து பாதுகாக்கும் ‘மின்னல் கடத்தி’ (Lightning Rod) கண்டறியப்பட்டு, உலகளவில் பல கோடிக்கணக்கான உயிர்களும் சொத்துகளும் காப்பாற்றப்பட வழிவகை பிறந்தது. #AanthaiReporter #BenjaminFranklin #KiteExperiment #HistoryOfElectricity #LightningIsElectricity #ScienceMilestone #OnThisDay

For the very first time, astronomers have discovered "seeds of life"—complex organic molecules—in a galaxy beyond our own.
