NCPEDP welcomes the recent notification under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions framework, which takes an important step towards inclusive workplace welfare facilities for persons with disabilities. The notified rules include provisions across toilets, washing spaces, bathing areas, locker rooms and changing rooms for persons with disabilities and transgender employees. This change also reflects why field-based evidence matters. @AdvGaneshLaw , a NCPEDP-Javed Abidi Fellow on Disability, worked closely with labourers with disabilities to document barriers at worksites and bring these concerns into the consultation process. Fine Imprisonment. ❸/.The "Repeat Offender" Trap ➠The Code is designed to punish habitual negligence severely. ↳A first offense for not maintaining records might cost INR 50K - 1L. Do it again? The penalty doubles. ↳ For serious contraventions leading to death or serious injury, a repeat offense leads to "Double the punishment." ❹/.
