Hello @CoriBush, my name is Laura Knittig. I am the Founder and Chief Executive Director of @researchbysave. I too have never felt like a full survivor, which is why we created victim-survivor as an all encompassing term for those affected affected sexual assault.
I am a victim of domestic abuse and sexual assault. I waited as my rape kit sat on the shelf for months.
I say victim because some days I don't feel like a survivor.
But I am not ashamed.
I will proudly bring that pain to Congress to fight for those who never got a chance to.
