In November of 2017, Epstein says “see anything that exciting or new?” And Joi Ito replies “#metoo is quite amazing.” And then in 2018, MIT announces MeToo and MeTooSTEM leaders with Ito and Hoffman’s Disobedience award.

One of the first and only orb awards given out was to MeToo leaders. Epstein and Hoffman got their own just because, I guess. web.archive.org/web/20200703…

Not strictly a media parvenu. Rasmussen was media spokesman for, and sidekick to, disgraced fraudster BethAnn McLaughlin in the MeTooStem grift before becoming media spokesman for, and sidekick to, the disgraced 'Proximal Origin' fraudsters in the COVID-market-origin grift.

Here's a concise, engaging English tweet capturing Tracy Chou's @triketora story: "Meet Tracy Chou—CEO/founder of Block Party building tools to combat online harassment, co-founder of Project Include advocating diversity in tech, and a Stanford-trained engineer reshaping Silicon Valley's ethics. From being Quora's first female engineer to advising Congress on algorithmic bias, she's spent a decade turning coding skills into societal impact. Her app Block Party, named one of TIME's Best Inventions, empowers users to filter abuse on Twitter. She forced tech giants like Google to disclose diversity stats in 2013, then co-created solutions through Diversity in Tech databases. Whether testifying on Capitol Hill or sparking #MeTooSTEM, Tracy proves tech can be both innovative and equitable. What inspires? How she bridges technical expertise (Pinterest's early architecture, AI ethics research) with unapologetic activism—showing engineers can code a better world while demanding accountability. Her story teaches us: breakthrough innovation happens when we center marginalized voices. 3/ Then there's the case of the "Hopi" professor: "a pseudonymous Twitter account called @Sciencing_Bi claiming to be a Native American professor at Arizona State University who purportedly died of COVID-19 after being forced to continue teaching. It turned out to be a fake Twitter persona created by Mary Beth McLaughlin in 2016, often tweeting about sexual harassment and lavishing praise on MeTooSTEM." buzzfeednews.com/article/pet…

The media is only a part of the story. When scientists in academia circle the wagons and gaslight the public, it's much worse.

Nobody ever seems to remember Dr. Angela Rasmussen, a virologist at Columbia University in New York, who weaponized the MEtooSTEM movement for her own personal gains.

The indictment against Rasmussen can be found here. Rasmussen was not in the first wave of resignations from #MeTooSTEM when the issue was McLaughlin’s racism; she only resigned when McLaughlin’s toxic behavior became so glaring it could no longer be swept under the rug.
This is a thread about the most toxic troll in the entire #COVID19 origins debate. If you care about the future of science and the abuses committed in its name, read on. We need experts, but we need them to be honest and unbiased.

Science quoting Rasmussen in an article about abuse is problematic for 2 reasons: (1) as @mbalter said, it launders the reputation of "a notorious bully and toxic troll" & (2) before Covid, Rasmussen hurt the MeTooStem movement by enabling the toxic behavior of BethAnn McLaughlin
2/ However, quoting Angie Rasmussen, a notorious bully and toxic troll, in any article about abuse is a mistake. There are so many better sources. I can say much more but will not right now.
