AI is leaving the screen and moving into the real world.
That was my biggest takeaway from day one at Bosch Connected World 2026 in Berlin.
In this summary video, I share some of the key themes from the first day and what they tell us about the next phase of AI.
The big shift is physical AI.
We are now seeing AI move into factories, vehicles, robotics, industrial systems and connected products. This is where AI starts to sense, understand and act in complex real-world environments.
A few things stood out to me:
Factories are becoming more intelligent, with digital twins, industrial AI agents and self-optimizing systems supporting human expertise on the shop floor.
Mobility is becoming more adaptive, with software-defined vehicles evolving into more personalized and intelligent companions.
Robotics is becoming a partnership challenge, where the real breakthrough will come from combining AI, sensors, software, hardware and industrial know-how.
And trust is becoming central. When AI moves into physical systems, security, safety and accountability become essential.
There was a real sense today that we are entering a more practical phase of AI. The conversation is shifting from what AI can generate to what AI can do in the physical world.
I’ll share more from Bosch ConnectedWorld tomorrow.
