The Ethiopian people don't need any endoresemnts from the neocolonialist parasites. When it comes to Africa, you derail fair elections and demonize great leaders because you are only trying to prop up puppets helping you exploit our continent. @seyoum_teshome @PanAfricanUnity

COLOMBUS WASN'T A MONSTER, HE WAS WORSE May 20th marks the death of Christopher Columbus, whose own words reveal a stark contrast between the values of many Indigenous peoples he encountered and the logic of European conquest. In this video, Cat Lantigua, an award-winning Dominican-American digital storyteller, reads through his 1492 journal, in which he described communities that were generous, open, and willing to share without expectation of return. What colonisers framed as “naivety” was in fact a social ethic rooted in collective responsibility. She explains how those ethics were exploited. Within years of Columbus’s arrival, the Caribbean became a landscape of forced labour, violent punishment, and mass death. With the documented widespread enslavement, mutilations, and killings under colonial systems imposed by the Spanish Crown. It is estimated that Indigenous populations in places such as Hispaniola (Modern-day Dominican Republic and Haiti) were exterminated by as much as 80%–90% within decades, driven by violence, coercive labour, and diseases brought from Europe. Today, Columbus is still publicly celebrated in many places, yet the documented reality of his actions and their consequences clearly shows that he was not a heroic explorer but a colonial conqueror and a man responsible for genocidal exploitation. Excellency President @WilliamsRuto. Your call at the Africa Forward Summit strikes at the heart of what Pan-Africa must now deliver: bold, coordinated action on green industrialization and a just energy transition. We must harmonize policies under AfCFTA and Agenda 2063, remove investment bottlenecks, and mobilize accessible, equitable finance that puts African ownership first. This is not merely climate action it is the pathway to inclusive prosperity and global competitiveness. In the geo-global arena, partnerships like this with France and forward-looking actors signal a new chapter of sovereign, mutually beneficial cooperation. Africa is not seeking aid, but the tools and space to lead as an industrial powerhouse. We stand ready to remove barriers, unlock resources, and build the resilient, self-reliant Africa our people deserve. #AfricaForward #GreenIndustrialisation #PanAfricanUnity #Agenda2063
We call on African governments, investors and financiers to join forces in advancing the green industrialisation and energy transition agenda in our continent. Governments must remove the bottlenecks on the way to green industrialisation by providing efficient permits, and enabling predictable policy and a conducive environment for investment. On their part, financiers must make investments affordable and accessible while businesspeople must provide clarity on what they are prepared to invest, build, buy, and timelines for delivery. Together, we can build Africa into a competitive industrial powerhouse that drives inclusive growth, advances climate action, and shared prosperity for generations to come. Co-chaired the Green Industrialisation and Energy Transition Session of the Africa Forward Summit with President @EmmanuelMacron of France, at Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi.

No foreign companies are allowed to extract minerals in America, China, or Europe, but in Africa African countries rely on foreign companies to extract their own minerals. Don’t we have engineering companies with African engineers in Africa? This trend must end!

African countries stood with South Africa during apartheid. Today, seeing Africans targeted in #xenophobic violence is painful and unacceptable. Pan African solidarity should go both ways. #AfricaUnited #EndXenophobia #PanAfricanUnity
