Every officer you see serving in difficult and dangerous areas has sacrificed a great deal and put their life on the line for the safety of others. Our junior security officers deserve respect, not abuse. Everyone knows they are doing their best under extremely challenging conditions, while risking their lives every day. Honestly, if such anger must be directed at anyone, it should be towards politicians who have failed to provide lasting solutions to the security challenges facing our communities. From the councillors to members of the State Assembly, the Chairman of Zurmi Local Government, and many other political leaders, very few of them live in Zurmi with their families. Yet these security personnel have left their own families behind and remain among us, working to protect lives and property. There is no doubt that Zurmi Local Government has suffered greatly. The incidents taking place in Zurmi and its surrounding communities are painful, heartbreaking, and unacceptable. However, humiliating security personnel is not the solution to these problems. We pray that Almighty God grants lasting peace and security to Zurmi, Zamfara State, and Nigeria as a whole, and brings an end to the hardships our people are facing.
