For us, this is not just about electricity. It's about catalyzing inclusive growth, improving service delivery, and driving productivity in places where the traditional grid network does not serve, sustainably. The forward-leaning blueprint of the Federal Government of Nigeria, as captured in the 2023 Electricity Act, has further empowered the State Governments to design and implement State-specific electrification plans to explore clean, innovative solutions and transformative partnerships to generate and distribute electricity in the respective States. Through the REA's #StatebyState Roundtables, the Agency continues to facilitate fit-for-purpose partnerships between the private sector and the State governments. In a country where millions live beyond the reach of the national grid, Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) is no longer just an alternative, it is the smartest and most scalable solution to provide #sustainableenergy. I just touched down in Dallas, Texas, with my amazing travel buddy and wife, Kristina! #ThrowbackThursday - On Tuesday the 26th of November 2024, the REA advanced its sustained strategic collaboration with sub-nationals through the signing of a purpose-driven Memorandum of Understanding with the Plateau State Government, within the context of the nation's blueprint for the energy sector, the 2023 Electricity Act, as well as the Rural Electrification and Strategy Implementation Plan (NESIP). The REA - Plateau State MoU was signed against the backdrop of a strategic Roundtable, which had, in attendance, His Excellency the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. @CalebMutfwang, the Executive Management of the REA, led by the Agency's MD/CEO, @abbaaliyu_, representatives from Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESCOs) and other frontline stakeholders in the clean energy sector. The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. @CalebMutfwang, while giving assurances of his commitment to advancing clean energy access in the State, explained that "Plateau state is ready to give its best to make investments in the state worthwhile. He added that "with the support of the RESCOs, REA and other partners, Plateau State can achieve energy sufficiency, drive MSME development, and uplift the lives of our people". The Governor, while commending the REA for its strategic rounds of #StatebyState Roundtables, said that "the Roundtable marks the beginning of a new chapter in our journey towards universal energy access and economic transformation. By deepening our collaboration, we can create sustainable electrification projects that power our communities, unlock new economic opportunities, and improve the quality of life for all people of Plateau state, and be rest assured you are backed by a supportive government." Speaking at the event, the Managing MD/CEO of the REA, Abba Aliyu, emphasised, “This partnership between REA and the Plateau State Government is a testament to our shared vision for a sustainable and electrified Nigeria. WHILE national trends show a stronger GOP early vote turnout, each state will have different dynamics. For example, Pennsylvania could see more Election Day voting from both parties.
