We had a significant victory for labor rights in Congress this week! I’m proud that we passed the Faster Labor Contracts Act with the support of the @AFLCIO, @Teamsters, the Laborers’ International Union of North America, @TheIronworkers, the Transport Workers Union of America, and our other partners in the American labor movement. This bipartisan bill ensures that bad-faith employers cannot simply subvert workers who have formed a new union by endlessly stalling negotiations on a first contract. In the event of any delay of more than 10 days, a contract dispute will be promptly referred to a mediator and, if necessary, arbitration, to ensure that workers are fully able to exercise their collective bargaining rights and secure change in the workplace. @Labor_Caucus

When workers vote to form a union, they deserve a fair shot at a fair contract — not months or years of corporate delay. That is exactly what my bill with @DonaldNorcross, the Faster Labor Contracts Act, takes on. And it just passed the House. This bill helps workers secure the fair wages, good benefits, and dignity they have earned. A big win for working people in Upstate New York and across the country.

With every discharge petition, we send a message: the Speaker may hold the gavel, but in the United States of America working people are still in charge.

This week, we forced a vote & passed @DonaldNorcross' Faster Labor Contracts Act✊ This bill requires employers to bargain with organized workers within 10 days of voting to form their union. We're calling on the Senate to pass the bill & deliver for workers.

I was raised in a union family, in a city built by unions, and in a Commonwealth that knows the value of unions fighting for better wages and stronger benefits. That’s why I voted YES on @DonaldNorcross’s bill to ensure that when workers choose to unionize, their seat at the negotiating table can’t be unnecessarily delayed or denied.

Americans marched and bled and died for the right to form a union. This week the House passed the Faster Labor Contracts Act — one step towards making that right real for all workers.

House Republicans are trying to gut the funding for the National Labor Relations Board, which enforces workers' rights to unionize and investigates unfair labor practices. As a small business owner of a union printing shop for more than 3 decades, I explain why these cuts aren’t pro-business, they’re simply pro-inefficient.

Spoke on the House floor yesterday in support for the Faster Labor Contracts Act.  When workers vote in the affirmative to form a union, the government should ensure that businesses immediately acknowledge and respect their voice.

The House just passed the Faster Labor Contracts Act – this is a big win for workers! I proudly voted for this bill, which speeds up the process of finalizing a contract between a newly certified union and the employer, and prevents employers from dragging out negotiations for years.  Speaker Johnson wouldn’t bring this bill to the floor, but House Democrats and the Labor Caucus built bipartisan support and used a discharge petition to force a vote.   The right to organize and collectively bargain is crucial to improving wages, benefits, working conditions, and more. Years-long delays are an infringement upon that right, and these delays hurt workers. Now that the House has acted, the Senate needs to pass this legislation as well.

I'm proud to stand with workers like @SBWorkersUnited baristas in West Hartford, who are still fighting for a fair contract. When companies drag their feet, @DonaldNorcross' Faster Labor Contracts Act will hold their feet to the fire. Today, we forced a vote, and we passed it!
